「Will the Circle Be Unbroken？」は､1907年に Ada R. Habershon（ｴｲﾀﾞR.ﾊｰﾊﾞｰｼｮﾝ）がCharles H. Gabriel（ﾁｬｰﾙｽﾞH.ｶﾞﾌﾞﾘｴﾙ）の音楽とともに書いた人気のｷﾘｽﾄ教賛美歌ですこの歌は大切な家族の死を悲しみ、天国での再会を願う歌です。古い時代、人々は夜には、暖炉の傍で「輪」になって集まり、話をしたり、祈りを捧げていました。その中の誰かが亡くなるとその「輪」が壊れてしまいます。天国で再会してまた完全な「輪」になれるだろうか？と神に問いかける歌です。 亡くなった家族が誰なのかは歌詞によって異なり、父母の時もあれば兄弟姉妹の時もあります。
1935年にThe Carter Family （ｶｰﾀｰ・ﾌｧﾐﾘｰ）によって「Can the Circle be Unbroken」としてﾘﾘｰｽされました。1936年に､The Monroe Brothers（ﾓﾝﾛｰ･ﾌﾞﾗｻﾞｰｽﾞ）はまだ別のﾊﾞｰｼﾞｮﾝを録音しました。 そして､Joan Baezは970年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”The First 10 Years” にNitty Gritty Dirt Band（ﾆｯﾃｨｰ･ｸﾞﾘｯﾃｨｰ･ﾀﾞｰﾄ･ﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞ） は 1972年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Will The Circle Be Unbroken”にThe Brothers Fourは1989年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”I Hear America Singing”には米国のｶﾝﾄﾘｰ・ﾐｭｰｼﾞｯｸ歌手､作曲家､俳優のRandy Travis(ﾗﾝﾃﾞｨ･ﾄﾗｳﾞｨｽ) は2003年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Worship & Faith”に曲を収録しています。
