「Greenback Dollar」はHoyt Axton（ﾎｲｯﾄ・ｱｸｽﾄﾝ）とKen Ramsey（ｹﾝ･ﾗﾑｼﾞｰ）によって書かれたﾌｫｰｸ･ｿﾝｸﾞです。最初は1962年、俳優、ｼﾝｶﾞｰ･ｿﾝｸﾞﾗｲﾀｰであるHoyt Axton自身のｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”The Balladeer”に収録されました。同年､The Kingston Trioもｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ"New Frontier”に収録、このﾊﾞｰｼﾞｮﾝは我々の学生時代､The Kingston Trioのｶﾊﾞｰﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞは必ず取り上げ演奏をしていました。そして､1963年､Barry McGuireはｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ"The Barry McGuire Album"、1965年､Trini Lopezはｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ" The Folk Album"､Johnny Rivers、ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ"Meanwhile Back At The Whisky À Go Go"､‎1975年､Jim Croce（ｼﾞﾑ･ｸﾛｳﾁ）はｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ"The Faces I've Been"､また、日本のﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞ､Yellow Magic Orchestraは2000年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ" ONE MORE YMO"曲をに収録しています.

「（My） Grandfather's Clock」（邦題:大きな古時計）は、1876年に発表されたHenry Clay Work（ﾍﾝﾘｰ･ｸﾚｲ・ﾜｰｸ）作詞・作曲の米国のﾎﾟﾋﾟｭﾗｰ･ｿﾝｸﾞです。当時､米国で楽譜が100万部以上売れました。歌はWorkが英国を訪問している際、宿泊先のﾎﾃﾙの主人から聞いたｴﾋﾟｿｰﾄﾞにﾋﾝﾄを得たものです。日本では戦前の1940年に、吉本興業（東京吉本）所属の子供歌手兼ﾀｯﾌﾟﾀﾞﾝｻｰ･ﾐﾐｰ宮島による歌唱、門田ゆたか：作詞、仁木他喜雄：編曲で「お祖父さんの時計」としてﾘﾘｰｽされました。歌詞は原詞とは全く異なり､1962年にNHKのﾃﾚﾋﾞ番組『みんなのうた』で、保富康午の原詞に近い訳詞「大きな古時計」として放送され、日本人の間に急速に浸透しました。立川清登が歌いました。

そして､Burl Ives‎は‎1958年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Old Time Varieties”､The Everly Brothersは‎1961年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Both Sides Of An Evening”､The Country Gentlemenは‎1963年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”On The Road”､The Doc Watson Familyは‎1994年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Songs From The Southern Mountains”､ The Brothers Fourは2003年、ﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Born Ｉｎ Seattle”に曲を収録しました。なお､Leroy Troy （ﾘﾛｲ･ﾄﾛｲ）は、昔の音楽ｼﾞｬﾝﾙのﾕｰﾓﾗｽまたはｺﾒﾃﾞｨ曲を ｸﾛｰﾊﾝﾏｰまたはﾌﾚｰﾘﾝｸﾞ・ｽﾀｲﾙで演奏するﾊﾞﾝｼﾞｮｰ・ﾌﾟﾚｰﾔｰです。彼は米国､ﾅｯｼｭﾋﾞﾙで毎週行われるﾗｲﾌﾞﾐｭｰｼﾞｯｸのﾗｼﾞｵ番組「Music City Roots Live From The Factory（ﾐｭｰｼﾞｯｸｼﾃｨﾙｰﾂ､ﾗｲﾌﾞﾌﾛﾑｻﾞﾌｧｸﾄﾘｰ）」2015年に出演､曲を演奏しました。

『Mary Poppins（邦題:ﾒﾘｰ･ﾎﾟﾋﾟﾝｽﾞ）』は､1964年に製作されたｳｫﾙﾄ･ﾃﾞｨｽﾞﾆｰ･ｶﾝﾊﾟﾆｰ製作のﾐｭｰｼﾞｶﾙ映画です。映画初主演のJulie Andrews（ｼﾞｭﾘｰ･ｱﾝﾄﾞﾘｭｰｽ）がﾒﾘｰ・ﾎﾟﾋﾟﾝｽﾞ､Dick Van Dyke（ﾃﾞｨｯｸ･ｳﾞｧﾝ･ﾀﾞｲｸ）が煙突掃除人役を演じました。実写とｱﾆﾒｰｼｮﾝの合成という手法が取られ、第37回ｱｶﾃﾞﾐｰ賞では最多13部門にﾉﾐﾈｰﾄされました。｢Chim Chim Cheree」はRobert B. Sherman（ﾛﾊﾞｰﾄ･B･ｼｬｰﾏﾝ）作詞、Richard M. Sherman（ﾘﾁｬｰﾄﾞ･M･ｼｬｰﾏﾝ）作曲で劇中：Dick Van Dykeが歌った,この映画の挿入歌です。そして､ｱｶﾃﾞﾐｰ賞歌曲賞を受賞しました。

「Chim Chim Cher-ee」は、英国の昔話に登場する、煙突掃除人に由来を持つおまじないの言葉で、意味は特にありません。 「Chim」は「chimney（煙突）」から派生し、煙突掃除人の間で流行っていたそうです。
