"European Mobility Week & Car Free Day Workshop and Conference for Japanese citizen groups”, held at Tokyo on 16 October 2011, attracted 50 audience as citizen groups and specialists for a day of lively discussion and debate.

The workshop focused on how Japanese citizen groups work with municipals in order to sustainable urban transport and urban city, mainly through European Mobility Week.

The workshop provided a forum for citizens, policy makers and researchers to make platform to share experiences and issues or tasks for the future.

Opinions from all participants play an important part in influencing discussion on citizen involvement or citizen activities in sustainable transport policy-making.
Especially, opinions of Mongolian and Vietnamese citizen groups gave us important advice to accelerate our activities in public relations or how to cooperate with municipals even though social system is different.

We are particularly grateful to our workshop, Mr.Olivier Lagarde, EMW coordinator. We are also grateful to all participants as Japanese citizens groups and Asian citizens groups .

The workshop was organized by Carfreeday Japan. We are also grateful to
Japan Fund for Global Environment Grants Program in supporting the workshop , under the auspice of Ministry of the Environment,Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transports of Japan and European Mobility Week .
