　こんばんは。

　先日、人生で４か国目となるワーキングホリデー滞在先のアイルランドからビザの許可が正式に下りました。

　これで４度目のワーキングホリデーでの滞在になるのですが、今回の申請もオンラインからでした。過去にワーキングホリデー制度を使って滞在した国は以下の通りです。

　2008－2010　オーストラリア（この時はセカンドワーキングホリデー制度を使って２年間滞在）

　2010－2011　ニュージーランド

　2015－2016　カナダ

　2017             アイルランド

　

　このプログラムは、サッカー留学とは別でワーキングホリデービザを利用した海外留学へのプログラムになります。私がこれまで滞在してきた各国で沢山の日本人留学生を見てきましたが、留学に失敗したり、少なくとも不満を抱えている人たちが多くいたのも事実でした。なせでしょうか？

　そのほとんどは「英語」に起因していました。思っていた以上に英語が伸びていない。留学生同士では仲良くなれるけど、ネイティブスピーカーの友達ができない。語学学校に日本人が沢山いて日本語ばかり使ってしまう、など。すべて自分自身の責任にしてしまうのは酷ですが、これはリサーチ不足、または留学会社に丸投げしてあとは成り行きに任した結果だと言えます。

　留学資金は非常に大きなお金です。そして貴重な20代を1年使って行くのですからしっかりとした計画が必要です。英語習得は簡単ではありません。が、工夫次第で伸びていく可能性はいくらでもあるのです。

The last soccer lesson in Vancouver.

I've often updated my blog recently and catch up to the present because I still have a large backlog of blog entries in mind.

Today, I would like to look back on the very last days of my soccer academy in Vancouver on 9th and 10th of October, 2016.

I clearly remember starting my soccer academy in Vancouver last summer. It had been only few weeks since I landed the new country. It scared me a bit when I started it because everything around me was new to me, and I had also no friends in Vancouver at that time.

But luckily, the number of kids who attended my sessions got bigger little by little by word of mouth. I also got to meet the principal of the JEC japanese language school right after I started the Sunday class. He owns his soccer academy for the kids in his school and was looking for an assistant coach for the academy, so there was a match between demand and supply for us. So I got to know new kids and parents through his academy, and he was very cooperative in advertising my soccer academy in his academy.

That's why I got to start the weekday classes very smoothly as well. I ended up doing what I wanted to do pretty much everyday thanks to those who are very kind and cooperative people. And I got to work for some local soccer clubs in Vancouver as a coach to learn their methodology in kids soccer, which is a precious experience for me.

At last, I was very lucky to have wonderful opportunities with great encounters in this country. And every night reminds me of how good of the days I spent in there as if I had been in a dream. And now I still may be in a dream with my dream job too because I am living on what I love most. So I would like the kids I had been coaching to find something they would love for the rest of their life like I could. If it is soccer for them, I would be delighted, but as long as it is something you love, I will be happy enough. And proud of yourself and what you have done when you look back at a point of time.

Me? Of course I am proud of myself and my life big time.

　ども。最近、更新頻度が上がってます。早く今現時点の活動まで追いつかせます。

　今回は１０月９、１０日に行ったサッカースクール最後のレッスンについてです。

　バンクーバーでサッカースクールを始めた１年前、その当時から参加してくれた子たち、そしてその繋がりから徐々に人数が増えていき、これだけの子たちが最後は集まってくれました。この日に参加できなかった子たちもいて、本当に恵まれていたのだと今改めて思います。

　自分自身も全力で駆け抜けた１年でした。最初は日曜日クラスで、小さい子たちを教えていくところから始まった小さな輪が、土曜日にJEC日本語学校のコーチをさせていただいてから、色んな方たちと出会うことができ、春先に平日クラスを作ったときにまた新しい出会いがありました。そこから毎週４回は自分自身のスクールでレッスンを行い、他の日にカナダの地元クラブやホリデープログラムに臨時コーチとして参加させてもらったり、コーチングは基本的にすべて英語で行い、自分が養いたかった経験値を積むことができました。

　たくさんの出会いと思い出は私の財産になり、これからのコーチ人生の基礎になっていくと思います。すべてがうまくいったと言えば語弊がありますが、自分が思っていた以上にたくさんの得るモノ、財産がここカナダでできたと思っています。本当に感謝しかありません。

　最後に、私自身も出会った一人ひとりの子どもたちには真剣に向き合ってきましたし、それぞれの思い出も鮮明に残っています。そんな子どもたちにサッカーをできるだけ長く好きでいてほしいと思うのはもちろんですが、他に何か好きなことができることもあるだろうし、それを機にやめてしまう子も必ずでてくるでしょう。ですが、私がサッカーが大好きでここまで好きなことと共に人生を歩むことができているように、何か自分が夢中になれるもの、一生誇れる何かに出会ってほしいと心の底から思います。そして過去に後悔がないように。

　失敗は成功すれば過程に変わる。

　再会を楽しみに、私も全力で生きます。

Got to have dinner with a former Japanese international soccer player.

There have been heaps of events to write on this blog, so I am now tracing the past to remind me. 

Today, I would like to write a blog post on the day when I got to meet and went for dinner with a former Japanese international(a former Kashiwa Reysol player in J-league), Kudo Masato, who currently plays for Vancouver WhiteCaps with a two years contract.

At first, I had been exploring the possibilities to invite him to my soccer academy in Vancouver or do a soccer event with him for the Japanese community in there. So I was also thinking how I could make contact with him in the first place and how I suggest an idea to interest him as he has a way more beautiful soccer career than I do.

And few days later, I happened to find a mutual friend on Facebook and asked him bridge between us. And he sweetly saw to it. That's how we got to know each other. 

Even though the season was still ongoing, he kindly made time for dinner with us. His personality and thoughtful behaviour at dinner were really impressive. And his phisique at first sight was a bit surprising as it was more robust and well-built than I expected. As a matter of course, he is in the race to secure his position as a striker, and he needs to show the difference from other local players as a visa player.

We were like interviewing him and bombarded him with so many questions, but he never made a face and honestly answered our questions. How gently he was!!

As a result, We couldn't arrange what I wanted to do for the kids with him as it was too soon to offer him, but the good news is that him and another Japanese player who played for New England revolutions in MLS this season, Daigo Kobayashi will be holding a soccer event in Vancouver in late November, apparently. It is a shame that I won't be able to get involved in it as a coach because I will be in Japan then. And I also forgot to take a photo with him at dinner!! GOSH!!

Anyway, I wish him a successful season next year and the event in November.

Keep in touch and meet him again for sure one day.

　色々とあったイベント事を遡りながら書いています。今回は、バンクーバーホワイトキャップスでプレーしている元日本代表（元柏レイソル）の工藤壮人選手と食事をしたことについて。

　始まりは、私がバンクーバーでサッカースクールをしていたこと、そしてバンクーバーにある唯一のプロチームに日本人選手が所属していたことからで、私からなんとか教えている子どもたちに現役プロ選手と触れ合う機会を設けられないかと思い、連絡をどうにか取れる方法を探ることから始めました。たまたま共通の知人がFBを通じていたので、その彼に工藤選手を紹介してほしいとお願いしてから、実際に連絡が取れるようになり、帰る数週間前にようやく直接会って食事することに。工藤選手もシーズン中にも関わらず時間を作ってくれて、非常に好感を持てる選手でした。出会ったときの感想は、やはりプロの体つき、海外にきて激しい当たりをFWとして争う立場で、プロの体というのが服の上からもわかる程でしたね。

　食事中も話していることは、サッカー雑誌に出るようなインタビューみたいに質問攻めにしてしまい、それでも気さくに答えてくれていたのは印象的でした。きっと人としても素晴らしいのだと思います。

　結局、会えたのが私の帰国ギリギリだったので、サッカースクール開催には日数が足らずに実現しませんでしたが、私は残念ながら参加できませんが、今月の終わりに元大宮の小林大悟選手と共に、バンクーバーの日系コミュニティに向けてサッカースクールを開催するようです。

　本当に参加できないので残念ですし、彼と会ったときに写真を一緒に撮るのも忘れてしまったのも残念。笑

　また連絡を取っていればいつか再会できる日が来ると思うので、その時にまたお願いします。

　工藤選手、来シーズンのさらなる活躍と、貴重なプライベートの時間をありがとうございました。

Canadian Rockies 3

Hi, this is the last chapter of the series. 

The photo above is the Colombia Icefield where you can even walk on it, but you need to go with a tour of it. We actually didn't participate in any of the tours for the ice-walk, but we found out that we got to approach only few meters away from the ice site by ourselves. It was screamingly cold, though.

　さて、ロッキー編はこれで最後です。

　上の写真はコロンビア大氷原。BanffとJasper間のちょうど真ん中あたりにあります。この辺りは結構な高地で気温も低かったので、氷河ができたのも頷けました。ツアーに参加すればこの氷原を歩くこともできます。参加しなくて目の前までは行けました。寒いですが・・・。

Let me show you this amazing mountain!! This picture does never do justice to its beauty, unfortunately, so I strongly recommend to visit this majesty. However, you will find a curvy road to drive up ahead of you. Be careful and drive safe!!

　続いてはMt Edith Cavellという山。３０００Mを超える山が並ぶロッキー山脈ですが、ここの麓まで車で上がることができました。写真で伝わりにくいですが、壮大で最高の景色でしたね。

We got to see Elks in woods nearby Jasper. We thought we were lucky enough, but you more than likely get to run into them along the way between Banff and Jasper, apparently. 

　そして野生のエルク！奈良の鹿ではないですよ。笑　見れるとは聞いてましたが、まさかこんな近くで見れるとは思いませんでした。しかもデカい！もののけ姫の世界ですね。Jasperからすぐ手前の道路脇で遭遇。

Let me wrap it up with the picture of a cozy town, Jasper. It seemed like a comfy size to walk around the town and would be a perfect departure gate to every famous viewpoint.

I have a friend who had been traveling around the world, and he told me that he had never been impressed as much as he was at the mountains.

No words come across my mind to describe how spectacular they are, right? 

　最後は目的地であったJasperの街並み。こじんまりした小さな町でしたが、雰囲気もなぜか落ち着きますし、観光しやすい、住みやすそうなところでしたね。是非次はこの町で一泊したいと思うくらいのところでした。

　知り合いの方が世界１周をした人がいるんですが、その人が言うのは、「世界のどの場所よりもカナディアンロッキーに勝る場所はなかった」と言っていました。私も２０か国ほど行きましたが、凄いと本気で思った衝撃はココが一番大きかったように思います。

Canadian Rockies 2

Hi, guys.

Finally I got back home in Japan!! It took us about a day from Mexico to Japan with 2 connecting flights at Guadalajara and Los Angels. I hated it the whole time.

This entry is sequel of the previous one(Canadian Rockies 1).

 

　さて、やっと南米旅行から日本に帰ってきました。やることが多くてバタバタしてますが、ブログも更新して追いついていきます。

　カナディアンロッキーの続きは、ここから。

First of all, It’s the Minnewanka lake, located at only 5km away from Banff. It it had been a sunny day, the surface of the lake would have been emerald green. It's known for that here.

　Minnewanka lakeというロッキー見物拠点の町BANFFからすぐのところにある湖。天気だったらエメラルドの湖面で美しいそう。この日は曇りで残念。

It was still cloudy, unfortunately. It would have been Turquise blue!! It is the Peyto lake.

　続いてこれまた曇りで残念ですがPeyto湖という今後はターコイズ色の湖。

I personally liked this most!! The Moraine lake.

　個人的には一番綺麗だとおもったMoraine lake。

This is the Lake Louise with amazingly clear water.  There is also a good hiking trail by the lake and get to see a beautiful view from the summit. I just heard about it as we had no time to try it out!! Gosh!!! 

　こちらはBanffとJasperという拠点地の中継点の町であるLake Louiseという町のところにある湖。ここは素晴らしいハイキングコースがあるそうで、そこから見る景色も最高だとか。私たちはあいにく時間がなくていけなかったですが、時間がある方は是非。

 

 

 

 

 

An announcement. 帰国報告

　どうも。ご無沙汰していました。

　今もちょっとバタバタしていて短いブログで報告だけさせてください。

　今現在、南米旅行の真っ只中にいます。現在地はペルー。この後もう少し色々と回って帰ります。日本へ。もう実はバンクーバーを出国していて、日本への帰国の寄り道で南米に来ています。ずっと地球の反対側だと思っていましたが、今滞在していることに驚きです。またそのことは改めて書きます。

　日本への帰国は１０月２７．２８日前後になるかと思います。その後サッカーコーチングの関係でアイルランドに１年行くので年明けまでは日本にいると思いますので、どんな事でも、できるだけ色んな方々とお会いできればと思っています。個人的にご連絡いただければお時間は必ず調整しますので、もし興味があればご連絡ください。dec12171985@hotmail.com　までお願いします。

I would like to make a quick anouncement. Recently I have swamped with so many things and errands to do so that I couldn't update any entry on this blog. Sorry about that.

All of a sudden, I am now in Peru. Why? yes, that's because I wanted to look around the other end of the world someday. Then I have made it, and barely surviviing right now. haha Let me update on this crazy journey another time.

The real anouncement is that I am returning home on 27 or 28th of October, of course it is Japan, Osaka. After that, I will be leaving for Ireland for a year for my coaching career establishment for my future dream so that I will be able to be in Japan until early next year(till mid of Jan or so on..).

So Please drop me an email if you are interested in what I am doing and the soccer academy that I am looking at in 2018. I will definitely try to accommodate to your schedule for a meeting arrangement.

Canadian Rockies 1

Hi, guys. 

Finally I went for a trip to the Canadian Rockies the other week, also known as Rocky mountains. It spreads across the two countries. I had been told by many people that it would be a great adventure to explore the beatiful heritage sites, and it actually was!!

I confidently recommend and tell you the same thing that I had been told by my friends, "you should definitely go". It is worth a visit once for sure.

We had almost everything set up such as renting a car, accommodation for the trip before we headed off to Banff by bus from Greyhound.   

 

　行って来ました、カナディアンロッキーへ。（通称ロッキー山脈）といっても広大でアメリカ・カナダに跨る山脈群の総称ですが、色んな人に絶対行った方がいいと言われ続け決断。

　結果・・・。行って本当に良かったです。今まで見たどの景色よりも凄まじく、迫力のあるモノでした。

　３泊４日の旅。宿、レンタカー、バスはすべて行く前に予約して、出発当日は早朝のGreyhoundバスに乗りBanffへ。上の写真がその街。良い感じにまとまった過ごしやすいところでした。

Look at this splendid view from the top of one of the rockies at an altitude of over 2000m. The rainbow was a bonus!!

　これはそのBanffの町からゴンドラで２０００ｍ以上登ったところから見る景色。虹も出て良かった。寒かったですが・・。

And we rented a car in Banff, and headed out to Jasper!! Our first stop was the Bow lake, just 40km away from Banff!! It was a powerful experience!!

　そしてレンタカーでJasperまで約300キロの道のりを北上！まずはBow lake!!いきなり最高の景色！

Mr Shirasawa

Hi, guys.

I got to meet and have a chat with a former pro-soccer player in JSL(the predecessor of J-league) and pro-coach at Vissel Kobe(currently in J-league) for many years. The content of the talk was all about my coaching vision for my own future academy. And I got so many tips on how I should start it with a decent preparation. It was really a productive meeting with him, and I felt that I was lucky enough to have his caliber at my back as he had tremendous connections with some J-league clubs and players too.

I know I shouldn't rely on him to step up to my goals, but I would like to cherish this encounter with him cuz I didn't really think that I got to have this kind of opportunity in Canada.

So I will try to look around the J-league clubs in Kansai district such as Ganba Osaka, Vissel Kobe, Cerrezo Osaka and Kyoto purple Sanga through him after moving back to Japan in November.

　先日、白澤久則さんというJリーグ創設前の日本トップリーグ、ヤンマーで活躍され、引退後はヴィッセル神戸でコーチを長年されていた方と、知人を通じて面談する機会がありました。主な内容は、これからのコーチングの方向性、サッカースクール設立に向けての成功例、失敗例など実のある話をさせていただきました。

　何よりも元日本代表選手、Jリーグの選手などのコネクションの幅が凄まじく、関西のJリーグクラブのユース年代のコーチ視察や紹介などの間も取り持ってくれるということで、非常に頼もしい限りです。

　１１月からの帰国後数か月は、日本のジュニアのトップの育成現場を実際に生で感じる機会を体験し、そこからまた新たに吸収しながら成長していきます。

　実際に白澤さんには、私が個人的に持っているサッカークラスの視察もしていただき、今後の課題などについても話し合っていきます。

　カナダでまさかこんな出会いがあるとは。出会いに感謝です。

 

 

My friend's story

Hi, I would like to introduce a story today. He's a former pro from Costa rica. We met at a club as a teammate in AUS few years ago. Since then, we are good friends.

Recently some people have asked me about the vision of Soccerman Sports. Because of that, I want to explain a little about where I come from and the reason why our classes are different.

I grew up in a very poor neighbourhood in Costa Rica with my three younger siblings and a single mother. It was a very difficult time. Sometimes we had nothing to eat. We lived in a very dangerous neighbourhood. Two houses away they were selling drugs. Many of the parents of my childhood friends were criminals or drug addicts.

From childhood I always liked playing soccer. I have been playing since I can remember. Today, even though I have played internationally at a very high level (where many have dreamed of playing) I cannot say I was a “superstar” of world football.

But for me, that is not important. When I sit down and look back on my life I realize that football saved my life. It saved me from being on the streets, from being on drugs, from being a bad son or a bad brother. Soccer saved me from accepting mediocrity. It saved me from being a person who gives up when things are difficult. It saved me from being a person who complains about life or the things that don’t work out right.

So when a parent pays for a class of football with Soccerman Sports, they are not only paying for their child to learn to play soccer, they are also paying for their child to learn what Soccer can teach: to strive to be a good son or daughter, to be a good friend, and to believe in themselves. 
The children learn to value life.

　ちょっと私の友人の記事投稿を見て感銘を受けたので、シェアしたいと思います。彼とはオーストラリアでプレーしていた時に出会いました。コスタリカ人で今はオーストラリアに永住し、子ども達にサッカースクールを開いて指導に当たっています。そんな彼の話。

　「最近、色んな方から私のサッカースクールの将来像を聞かれるので、どうしてこのスクールが他とは違うのかをお話したいと思います。私はコスタリカの貧困地区で、母子家庭の４人兄弟の長男として産まれました。すごく苦しい時期もありました。時には食べるモノがなく、２つ隣の家は薬の売人、多くの幼少期の友人の親は、麻薬中毒者や犯罪者。

　子ども時代の私は、常にサッカーと一緒でした。いつ始めたのか覚えていないくらい。そして懸命に練習し、プロまで辿り着けましたが、プロの世界で活躍したとは言えません。しかし今はそれが重要だったかと言えば違うような気がします。振り返って考えてみると、サッカーそのものが私の人生を救ってくれたと考えているからです。サッカーに出会わなければ、薬に溺れ、家族を裏切るようなことになっていたかもしれない。そしてちょっとした事で物事を諦め、うまく行かないことに言い訳をし、平凡な人生を歩んでいたでしょう。

　スクールに来てくれている子ども達は、私にお金を払ってくれています。それはサッカーを学ぶ月謝という意味だけでなく、サッカーが私に与えてくれたような本質、つまり人として手本であり続けること、そして自分を信じること。さらには命の大切さを学ぶことも含まれているのです。」

　彼の育った環境、潜り抜けてきた幼少期の経験が基盤になっているのでしょう。彼だから教えられる「何か」がここに隠されているような気がします。私も違った観点でその「何か」を見出し、自分の特異な経験から感じることを伝えたいと思っています。

 

My future plan 今後の活動予定

Hi, guys.

Let me talk about what I am going to do after settling in Japan. It will probably be in early 2018 for now. It could change later on, but at the moment..

Then my biggest goal would be to launch my own soccer academy in Kansai area, where includes my home city, Osaka. I haven't decided yet exactly where I get my stranglehold, but it should be around Osaka.

And my next stage from this coming new year would be in Ireland. I have made up my mind to depart for there on a working holiday, which is my forth times in my life, following on Australia, Newzealand and Canada. Every decision for the countries was based on my future plan that I have told earlier. That means they are where you get to learn English and play soccer. 

And I want to mix these two things up in my soccer academy in Japan. My idea is very simple. I would like to creat a place where kids get to improve skills of these two things on the soccer field. I guess some of you guys still don't get what I am picturing in my mind. It's gonna be a long story if I describe it all right now, so let me put it off next time.

Now, I am pretty excited with the nex journey in Ireland. I expect that it's gonna be more difficult in every respect for sure since it is way more unfamiliar for Japanese so that I won't be able to adapt to a new enviroment in there as smooth as I could in Vancouver. 

But I have demolished lots of barriers and difficulties ahead of my way before. So I always try to believe in what I decide no matter what happens in the country. Try to stick to a plan A, never think about a plan B cuz it ends up distracting you from the plan A!!

Stick to my guns!!

  

  今日は今後についてお話しします。

　大きな目標としては、２０１８年初旬に自身のサッカースクールを立ち上げること。出身が大阪なので、これは日本の関西地域で考えています。そこに向けて、今後のプランとして、１１月に日本へ帰国し、２０１７年初旬にアイルランドへ１年間、サッカーコーチングの勉強の為に費やす予定です。これでワーキングホリデーで滞在するのはオーストラリア、ニュージーランド、カナダに続いて４か国目になります。すべてサッカーと英語がこの決断の礎になっています。改めて感謝ですね。

　なぜアイルランドなのかというのも、まずは英語圏であること、そしてヨーロッパのサッカー文化に触れ、自身もプレーしながらコーチングに携わる環境に身を置きたいと考えています。コネは一切今のところないです。これまでもそうでした。しかし今回は、現地の日本人コミュニティの少なさや、アイルランド人の日本人に対しての馴染みのなさなどから、これまで行った英語圏の国以上に難しいものになると予想しています。これもチャレンジです。きつい事もたくさんあると思いますが、楽しんで乗り越えたい。

　そして日本でのサッカースクールについては、基本的に英語とサッカーを織り交ぜた小学生対象のスクールにしたいと考えています。具体的にはこれから煮詰めていきます。将来的には、今まで行った滞在国でのコネクションを生かして、自分のスクールや卒業生のサッカー留学・語学留学、現地の子どもとの交換留学など、多岐に渡って日本との繋がりを広げる活動もできればと考えています。

　自分自身の経験を強みにして、少しずつ自分ができることをしていくつもりです。背伸びせず、高望みせず、コツコツと。

A birthday gig with a soccer coaching.

Hi, guys.

I had a soccer gig for a boy as a birthday gift to him. I actually got offered by his mom that she wanted to do something special for his older son as I coach him soccer in a group session every Sunday. So I had no reasons that I shouldn't do that for him. 

I was a bit uneasy about the session as I was going to have about 20 kids on the day that I haven't even met most of them who are his classmates. At the same time, I was so jealous of the birthday boy!! I still remember throwing a party with some friends invited for my birthday when I was a kid, but it wasn't that lavish for sure!!

All in all, his mother told me in the night after the session that she has received a lot of positive messages and feedbacks from them, that made me relieved big time!!

Thank you for the new great experience!!  

  先日、あるお母さんからの依頼で、お子さんの為の誕生日会でサッカーレッスンを友達を大勢呼んで行いたいということで、快く引き受けることに。主役は８歳の男の子ですが、誰が主役かわからなくなるほどの人数が集まってくれて総勢２０人弱。こんな大勢の誕生日会なんて子どもの時にしたことないよなぁ・・・。と思いながら、彼らの思い出の１ページにと素晴らしい環境の中で２時間みっちりサッカーレッスン。

　こっちは色んな施設を貸し切って子どもの誕生日会をすることも珍しくないとか。贅沢すぎです。笑

　しかし初めて会った子達が半分以上でしたし、人種も様々。みんな学校の友達だということでした。終わった後の反響も良かったですし、盛り上がってくれたので一安心。本当に色んな経験をさせてもらってます。

Joffre lakes

Hi, guys.

I made a one-day trip to the Joffre lakes the other week. It took us about 3 hours to get to the first lake where is located beside the car park. Actually, there weren't enough spots to cover up all the cars of visitors during a peak season of the year. So I suggest you to go as early in the morning as you can to secure a spot otherwise you are forced to park on the road a bit far away from the entrance... 

However, it was a amazing hike!! The photo above is that I took halfway through the hiking course. Majestic, right?

　この前ちょっとした旅行でJoffre lakesという場所に行ってきました。バンクーバーからレンタカーで３時間弱の所にある綺麗な湖が見えるハイキングコースです。写真はそのハイキング途中の大自然の中で。

The second photo is at the second lake, located a bit far away from the first one. It takes you about 40 mins on a lumpy path. And walking up another 20 mins from there, you can see the very last lake, and you can also walk around it to the other side of the lake where gives you an option if you still want to give it a go for another hectic hike for a picturesque view, which it the photo below!!　

  写真じゃ伝わらないほどのエメラルドグリーンな透明感の湖と美しい自然。１つ目の湖は駐車場から５分歩けば着きますが、そこから２つ目までは４０分ほど登らないといけません。さらに３つ目まではそこからまた２０分ほど。そしてさらにその３つ目の裏側までも岩場を超えてまた２０分、まだまだ終わりません。そこから砂利道の坂を永遠１時間くらい登ると・・・。

But this is not acutually what it is.. Since I gave up on the way to the very top, I couldn't get you a perfect landscape from there!! Sorry.. If you get to climb up to the top, you will look down the three lakes at the spot. It was a very tight schedule for me at that time, so maybe I will try to get there next time for sure.

There were many campers by the third lake, so I bet it will be an unforgettable memory, if you afford to stay there for few nights. 

　こんな感じ。実はこれ、奥に微かに２つ目の湖が見えますが、もっと登れば３つの湖が上から眺められる絶景ポイントがあるんです。さすがに運転も一人でして、一日の弾丸旅行だったので辿り着けなかったけど、ここから見る景色だけでもまさに絶景でした。しかし本当にきつかった・・・。次の日は前腿がパンパンでしたからね。

　しかしこれはバンクーバーに来る人なら必見スポットでした。夏ならキャンプもできるし、最高の思い出になると思います。

BOG fiji tournament - U9 and U10 Results

Hi, guys.

I remember blogging about the BOG soccer tournament few months ago, so let me update on the results of it. To go straight to the bottom line, we got hammered in the two games that we had at the competition. I can't remember exactly how many goals we conceded from those two games, perhaps it was about 10.. And we only had one goal from them.. It was actually shocking to me!!

Plus, I myself was a bit upset in my mind while the games were ongoing, especially in the situation where we started getting scored many, all I could do for the kids were t encourage them to keep their heads up and stay the course. Thinking back of that time, I strongly think I could do something better for them..Maybe if I were more of a well-experienced coach, it would have been a different scenario.

However, I still have a lot of time to strike back at the opponents and become a way better one with a solid method that never makes me go wobbly. It's all about the amount of experience that you have and you have got through before like this time!!

　また少し時間を遡りますが、以前にお知らせしたBOGサッカートーナメントですが、結果を更新せずにそのまま放置していました。結果から言うと、U9,U10ともに大敗。点差ははっきり覚えていませんが、２試合して１０失点以上喫して得点はわずか１でした。選手の実力不足、そして経験値ともに明らかな差がありましたが、ここまでの差がついたのは自分自身もショックは大きかったです。

　そして何より、自分自身の経験値の無さもありました。まずはチームとして初めての対外試合だったこと。人数集めに奔走して、チーム作りが全くできていませんでした。そして何より、他に何かできたんじゃないか、子どもたちに違った声を掛けられたのではないかと反省点ばかりが試合後は頭をよぎっていました。

　チームでのトレーニングができない中でも、即興で効果が出るような戦術、そんな魔法はないかもしれないけど、百戦錬磨の少年団コーチなら他のアプローチができたはず。それはもちろんこれから養われていくものだけど、そこにコーチとしている限り言い訳はしたくなかったです。しかしその無力感だけが試合後に私の胸に残りました。しかしこれも経験として今後に生きてきます。そう信じている。

　またいつかリベンジの機会があればやり返したいですね。子どもたちには今から無限の可能性がある。そんな子どもたちと今日も練習してきます。

The Asian Cup in Vancouver

Hi, guys.

Throwback to the Asian Cup this June. We took part in a competition called Asian Cup in Vancouver. As you might know, playing soccer is one of the most popular activity for kids in Vancouver. And it's no exception for Asian kids in here either. This soccer compertition is held in June every year for testing themselves as a team and international interaction among those countries.

Originally, there were 4 teams in total to make it, but the Korea suddenly decided to pull out of the comp, and they didn't even show up on the game day. This could happen everywhere in the world, right?Lol

In the end, We swept all the trophies!! As a matter of course, we won all the games we played by a huge margin. I actually had nothing to do as a coach. Even if there had been no coach for the team, they could've won it easily for sure. So what I focused on during the games was to deal with every single player equally and fairly by giving them equal time for every game. It's not an easier job that it sounds to integrate a new team who has some players you have never coached before. And they all are at puberty, that means at a difficult age in a way. But I liked the experience, though!!

However, this has made me think that I'd like to see what I could do for them in a seesaw game!!

　これまた少し前の話になりますが、子どもアジアカップなるものがバンクーバーで開催されました。バンクーバーに住むアジアのバックグラウンドを持った子どもたちが参加。日本、インド、中国、当初は韓国チームも参加予定でしたが試合当日にキャンセル。まぁ海外ですから。笑

　私は参加カテゴリーの中で一番上のU14の子どもたちを受け持ち、４戦全勝で見事優勝でした。というより、相手とのレベルの差がありすぎて、コーチとしてすることは特になかったですが・・・。みんなできるだけ平等に扱い、プレーさせること。チームとして鼓舞し続けることを頭に入れていましたね。ほとんど知らない選手ばかりでしたし、難しい年頃の子達を扱うのは一筋縄ではいきませんでしたが、これもまた経験です。競った展開で自分がコーチとして何ができるのか、それも早く試してみたいところです。
