【ダッカ金子淳】「ここから助け出してくれ！」「無事を祈っているよ」。バングラデシュの首都ダッカで１日（日本時間２日未明）起きた人質テロ事件で、人質になったバングラデシュ人の兄は、弟と約８時間にわたってメールで連絡を取り合った。悲痛な叫びを伝えてきた兄の安否を気遣う弟が、地元紙「デーリー・スター」の取材に応じた。脱出した人たちによると、人質は武装集団にイスラム教の聖典コーランを暗唱させられ、できない人が襲われたという。
同紙によると、人質になったのは、現場の飲食店「ホーリー・アルチザン・ベーカリー」で働いていたサミール・バロイさん。弟のゴパルさんは、事件発生から約３０分後の１日午後１０時ごろ、携帯電話のメールで兄と連絡がついた。
「僕とおいは無事だ。トイレの個室にいる」。兄からの連絡に弟はほっとし「みんな大丈夫だよ」と励ました。
発生から４時間あまりたった２日午前１時４５分、兄から切羽詰まったメールが来た。「壁を壊して助け出してくれ！」。しかし、家族は現場周辺に近づけずどうにもならない。
「やつらは、兄さんがトイレにいることを知っているの？」。弟のメールに兄は「そうだ。やつらにトイレに閉じ込められているんだ」と説明した。「兄さん、元気？」「無事、元気に帰って来ることを祈っているよ」。弟はメールを送り続けた。
午前５時４８分。「治安部隊はもうすぐ突入してくる。すぐにトイレに来てくれ。ここは（体が）痛い」。兄のメールに弟は「軍には兄さんのことを伝えてあるよ」と返した。返事はなかった。午前６時２２分、「今どんな状態なのか教えて」とメールを送ったが、やはり返事がない。午前７時４０分、治安部隊が突入した。その後も、兄から返事は返ってきていない。
生存者がＡＰ通信などに語った証言によると、武装集団は従業員に店内の明かりを消すように命令。内部の様子を悟られないために店に取りつけられた監視カメラを黒い布で覆い隠した。
また、襲撃者らはバングラデシュ人に１階にいるように指示。外国人は選別されて２階に連れて行かれたという。生存者のバングラデシュ人、ハスナット・カリムさんから当時の状況を聞いた父親は「（人質）全員にコーランの一節を唱えることができるか尋ね、できない者は拷問を受けた」と証言した。
店内に突入した治安部隊の足元には、真っ白な石畳の床を真っ赤に染めた血の海が広がっていたという。
「出来よい息子、悔しい」 死亡した岡村さんの父
「出来のよい息子だったのに。悔しい」。日本人７人の死亡が確認されたバングラデシュの首都ダッカで起きた人質テロ事件。そのうちの一人、建設コンサルタント会社「アルメックＶＰＩ」（東京都新宿区）社員、岡村誠さん（３２）の父駒吉さん（７１）＝千葉県富里市＝は、そう声を絞り出し、無念さをあらわにした。
岡村さんの死亡確認を聞いたのは２日午後１１時過ぎ。事件の発生後に外務省から連絡を受けていたが、それまで安否は分からなかった。駒吉さんが外務省に電話をかけて、その後の状況を確認したところ、担当者が「誠に申し訳ないが、亡くなっています」と答えたという。
岡村さんは日本大大学院を卒業後、アルメックＶＰＩに入社。駒吉さんによると、東南アジアを中心にインフラ整備の仕事をしていた。中学生の頃から都市を開発するテレビゲームなどに熱中するなど、インフラに携わる仕事を目指していたという。
先月上旬にはバングラデシュに向かう岡村さんを自宅近くの駅まで送迎した駒吉さん。その際、昨年１０月に首都ダッカの宗教施設であった複数の爆発が頭によぎったという。
駒吉さんが「今回はちょっと気をつけろよ」と言うと、岡村さんは「うん。わかった」と応じたという。その後、岡村さんが出国前に空港から「１カ月後には帰るから」と電話してきたのが、最後の言葉となった。
駒吉さんら家族は３日にも政府専用機で現地に向かう。駒吉さんは「本当に優秀な息子だった。大学時代もいろいろな賞をとった。政府にはきちんとテロの対策を取ってもらわないといつまでも同じことが続く。もう同じような被害は出ないようにしてほしい」と話した。
