　雨の仙台の杜に歓喜の花が咲いた。コナミ日本シリーズ２０１３は３日、第７戦を行い、楽天が３―０で巨人を下し、球団創設９年目で初の日本一に輝いた。９回に第６戦で１６０球を投げたエースの田中将大投手（２５）が救援登板。「日本ラスト登板」を無失点で締め、レギュラーシーズン、クライマックスシリーズ（ＣＳ）に続き３度目の胴上げ投手となった。星野仙一監督（６６）も９度宙に舞った。楽天が東日本大震災からの復興途上の東北に歓喜を届けた。

　また第２戦で田中は１失点完投勝利。同一シリーズで完投勝利とセーブをマークしたのは９４年の巨人・桑田以来１９年ぶり６人目となった。なお過去に公式戦無敗（規定回以上）でシリーズに臨んだ８１年間柴（日本ハム＝１５勝０敗）は、巨人戦２試合に先発し０勝２敗でチームも敗退。公式戦無敗でシリーズに登板し日本一を手にしたのは田中が初めて。
