I also need something in which I have the protective coloration to protect oneself against a predation person in the creature. But surprisingly, it's that this butterfly becomes clear, and I hide myself from a foreign enemy. When saying, it's a strategy the life of the idea that they look like clear man, but it's ironical that human attention gathers in its beauty. I say that the kinds of these butterflies live from Mexico, Panama and Colombia around the State of Florida in the United States. From local people, the toumei, when, a feather can be compared to glass, and it's said that it's also called "small mirror". The basis is black, but a frame part of a feather changes into the various colors by the degree of the light. Therefore when I flap, KIRAKIRA shines. When I see, it's the butterfly which seems weak, but the powerful front page it's possible to carry the weight of 40 times of the weight with everything where seems to last.

ガラスのような透明な羽をもつチョウの仲間「グラス・ウィング・バタフライ」（Glass wing Butterfly）が注目を集めている。日本名では、「ツマジロスカシマダラ」と呼ばれているようだが、透明な羽の美しさは素晴らしい。
生物の中には、捕食者などから身を守るために保護色を持つものもいる。だがなんとこのチョウは、透明になることで外敵から身を隠しているのだ。言ってみれば、透明人間みたいな発想の生存戦略だが、その美しさに人間の注目が集まっているというのは皮肉なものだ。
このチョウの種類は、メキシコやパナマ、コロンビアからアメリカのフロリダ州あたりまで生息しているという。現地の人びとからは、その透明ば羽をガラスに例えられたり、「小さな鏡」とも呼ばれているそうだ。
羽のフレーム部分は基本は黒だが、光の加減によって様々な色彩に変化する。そのため、羽ばたくとキラキラ輝く。
一見すると、か弱そうな蝶ではあるが、なんと自分の体重の40倍もの重量を運ぶことができるというパワフルな一面も持っているようだ。
