青梅の古民家で縄文体験Jomon experience at an old folk house in Ome.

娘たちファミリーは、シアトルから成田空港へ到着しました。
6月20日から7月7日まで、青梅市成木の古民家に滞在します。

オーナーの野口さんは、自由の森学園の美術の先生という事で、

ビックリでした。
ネットで検索し、偶然野口さんの古民家に決めたそうです。

最近若者層に住んでもらおうという事で、飯能市が土地付き

家を売りに出しています。
野口さんの古民家には、自由の森学園の卒業生などが手伝い

に来てくれるらしいですよ。

ボロボロの古民家を20年かけて完成されました。
よく見ると、つぎはぎだらけの柱や、まだ生きている大木を

利用して、洒落た家を離れに作られていて、さすが〜、美術

の先生だと感心いたしました。

家の周りは2万ヘクタールの森林がいっぱいあって、

頭がボーっちゃけました。(笑)

近くでは縄文土器の破片がいっぱい出るそうですので、

落ち着いたら探索に行こうと思います。

お孫さん達も元気に、庭のイモムシ、山羊さんなどと遊ん

でいます。
庭の前の川には蛍が飛んできています。

最高〜。

My daughter's family has arrived at Narita Airport.

 They will be staying at an old farmhouse in Nariki,

 Ome City from June 20th to July 7th.


I was surprised to learn that the owner, Mr. Noguchi, 

is an art teacher at Jiyu no Mori Gakuen (Forest of 

Freedom School). 

They happened to come across Mr. Noguchi's 

farmhouse through an internet search.


Recently, the city of Hannō has been selling houses 

with land, aiming to attract younger residents.


It seems that graduates of Jiyu no Mori Gakuen and 

others will come to assist at Mr. Noguchi's farmhouse.


Over the course of 20 years, Mr. Noguchi has 

transformed the dilapidated old farmhouse into a 

charming home. Upon closer inspection, you can see 

patched pillars and clever use of still-living large trees, 

creating an impressive artistic atmosphere. 

Truly remarkable for an art teacher!


The house is surrounded by a vast forest spanning 

20,000 hectares, and it left me in awe. (laughs)


I heard that there are many fragments of Jomon pottery 

found nearby, so once things settle down, I plan to 

go on an exploration.


The grandchildren are lively, playing with caterpillars 

in the garden and such. Fireflies are flying around the 

river in front of the garden. It's absolutely wonderful!
