欧州「グリーン首都賞」エストニアの首都タリン

今朝のニュースを見ました。

エストニア🇪🇪は、本当に素敵なところです。

旧ソ連から独立後昔栄えた貿易国の洗練された国民性を

取り戻していく過程を、私達は、25年間見守って来ました。

国の政策が“IT、観光、ヘルシー”という事でした。

ヘルシーのなかで、日本発“Jomon Shindo”はいち早く取

り入れられ、今では国中の人々から愛されるようになり

ました。

エストニア人は日本人に似ていて、「おもてなし」の精神を、

持っているので、一度訪れた人はまた行きたいと言います。

他国から占領の憂き目に何度も遭いましたが、その度に戦う

事をしなかったんです。

先祖が残した遺産建造物を壊されないようにですね。

戦争をしなかった縄文人の精神と似ています。

　　

エストニア元大統領のトーマス、イルビィスは、タリンの旧市街で

遭遇した娘に気軽に声かけてくださってました。(笑)

本日の記事を少しだけ紹介させて頂きます。

欧州委員会（EC）は、2023年の「欧州グリーン首都賞」

に、エストニアの首都タリンを選出した。

同賞は2010年から毎年与えられているもので、環境問題

における意識向上や最良慣行の共有を目的としている。

タリンは、環境政策での強固な計画が評価され、同賞を

受賞した。2030年までに温室効果ガス排出量を40％

削減し、2050年までに排出量を実質ゼロにすることを

目指している。

同市には、環境プロジェクト資金として60万ユーロ（約8000万円）

が贈られる。


■タリンでできること

タリンへの旅を計画する際、目に入る写真の多くは中世

の街並みが残る旧市街の風景だ。

かつて交易の中心として栄えた旧市街は現在、観光客

向けの割高な店が並ぶ場所になっているため、美しい

路地や広場を散策しながらも「中世のランチを体験」と

いった呼び込みは丁寧に断った方がよい。

要塞内の隠れ通路を散策するガイド付きツアーに参加する

のもいいだろう。

■エストニアへのグリーンな旅

飛行機や車を使わず欧州の他都市からエストニアに向かう

ことはできるが、時間がかかる。

旅行情報サイト「Seat61.com」はロンドンからタリンへの

移動方法として、列車とフェリーを使ってコペンハーゲン・

ストックホルム経由で行くルート、ユーロスターから列車を

乗り継いでドイツ・ロストックに向かい、そこからフェリーで

ヘルシンキ、そしてタリンへと向かうルートのほか、より時間

はかかるが陸路で列車とバスを使ってブリュッセル、ベルリン、

ワルシャワ、ビリニュス、リガを経由するルートを紹介。

「ロンドンからタリンへの旅は3晩かかり、途上での見所が多い

素晴らしい冒険だ」としている。

フィンランドの首都ヘルシンキからフェリーでエストニアに

向かうルートは人気が高い。所要時間はわずか2時間なので、

日帰り旅行もしやすい。このことから、エストニアは常に

フィンランド人の観光客でにぎわっている。

I saw the news this morning.


Estonia 🇪🇪 is a really nice place.
After independence from the former Soviet Union, we have 

been watching for 25 years the process of regaining the 

sophisticated national character of a prosperous trading nation.


The national policy was "IT, tourism, healthy".
Among the healthy ones, "Shindo" from Japan was introduced 

early and is now loved by people all over the country.
Estonians are similar to Japanese people and have a spirit 

of "hospitality", so people who visit once say they want to 

go again.


The country suffered many occupations from other nations,

 but did not fight each time to ensure that the heritage 

structures left by their ancestors were not destroyed.


It is similar to the spirit of the Jomon people who did not 

go to war.

The European Commission (EC) has elected Tallinn, the 

capital of Estonia, for the 2023 European Green Capital Awards.
The award has been given annually since 2010 and aims 

to raise awareness and share best practices on environmental 

issues.

Tallinn received the award for its strong environmental policy 

plans. It aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% 

by 2030 and to reduce emissions to virtually zero by 2050.
The city will receive 600,000 euros (about 80 million yen) to 

fund environmental projects.


What you can do in Tallinn
When planning a trip to Tallinn, many of the photos you see 

are the scenery of the old town with its medieval cityscape.
The old town, which once prospered as a center of trade, is 

now a place where expensive shops for tourists are lined up, 

so while strolling through beautiful alleys and plazas, 

we politely refused to call in "experience a medieval lunch". 

It is better don't have it.
Take a guided tour through the hidden walkways inside the 

fortress.


■ Green trip to Estonia
It is possible to travel to Estonia from other European cities 

without using a plane or car, but it takes time.

The travel information site "Seat61.com" is a way to get from 

London to Tarin by train and ferry via Copenhagen Stockholm, 

then take the train from Eurostar to Rostock, Germany, and 

then take the ferry to Brussels. And, in addition to the route to 

Tallinn , we will introduce a route that takes longer but takes 

a train and bus via Brussels, Berlin, Warsaw, Virinus and Riga.
"The trip from London to Tallinn takes three nights and is a 

great adventure with lots of attractions along the way."


The ferry route from Helsinki, the capital of Finland, to Estonia 

is very popular. It only takes 2 hours, so it's easy to take a day 

trip. For this reason, Estonia is always crowded with Finnish 

tourists.
