英国中部にあるベッドフォードシャーの静かな村で、リンカーン・マイルズは生活用品の備蓄を進めている。ガスマスクや防護服なども箱詰めしてあり、本人と家族が「緊急避難」で遠く離れた場所へ移動しなければならなくなった場合に、すぐに使えるようになっている。

さらに、秘密の「緊急避難」場所を少なくとも5カ所用意しているとともに、移動式緊急避難用に自分で改装したトレーラーハウスもある。
「適切なエアコンを取り付けてあるし、発電機や燃料も備えている。パック食品のほか、もちろん休日のために必要なその他すべてのものを備えている」とウェア氏は述べる。このトレーラーハウスには、専用のソーラーパネルや12V100Ahのバッテリーのほか、雨水を集めてろ過するときに使うポンプも用意されている。
さらにウェア氏は、州都であるパルマと自宅を結ぶ唯一の幹線道路が封鎖された場合に、自宅に戻る方法についても検討している。実際にエボラ熱のことを非常に心配しているわけではないが、地元の空港で感染者が発見されたら、計画のいくつかを実行に移すことを検討するという。
