Some cicadas are singing
Some spider lilies
Are popping out of the land

まだツクツクボウシは鳴いています。そんな中、彼岸花を近所でやっと見つけました。
「彼岸花はどこ」を書いた日、朝日新聞の天声人語にも、今年は遅いようだということが書いてありました。蝉が鳴く=夏、でしょうか、やはり。

There are many cicadas who have still been singing. Finally, I found some spider lilies blooming near my house.
When I wrote " where is a spider lily? " 5 days ago, The Tenseijingo(天声人語, it's a kind of essay's title)on Asahi Shinbun(newspaper) also wrote about spider lilies that were later to bloom than usual.
The cicadas have still been singing, means it's summer yet?

ツクツクボウシの声を聴きながら、秋の雲を眺める。いや、ツクツクボウシの声を聴くと言うことは、未だ夏、と言うことになるかも知れない。するとこれは、夏の雲。あと二日で十月ですが…。
今年の九月を振り返って見ると、夏と秋が鍔迫り合っているような、落ち着かない一ヶ月でしたね。

It's now some cicadas are singing, then I am seeing the cloud in September. September is autumn. But I've still been hearing their songs, it may be still summer. So, the cloud is set in summer. After 2 days, October starts.
Looking back to this September, It seems like summer and autumn are fighting each other. Sometimes summer won, at other times autumn won. I couldn't settle down during September.

だが、半分。です。今年の夏に、読んでないんだよな、と思い出し、図書館にリクエストしたら間違ってドイツ語に。過去に半年ほど習ったくらいで読めるワケもなく、英語版をすぐにリクエスト。お勉強も兼ねて、15歳くらいの子が書いたものなら読めるかな？ っと思ったのは間違いで、理解度は半分くらい。冒頭の半分、はこの半分、ではなく、一回延長しても読めたのは半分、という事です。残りの半分、秋が来ても読みます。ガンバッテ。

I read a half of the book. I remembered that I haven't read her book yet. It should be good for me if I read the book in English. (I had a mistake to request the book in German by accident at the library. I learnt German for a half year long time ago, it's not enough to read the book) And, I thought that the book was written a young girl who was around 15 years old, so, I might be easier...? But actually, it's not. My English vocabularies weren't enough to read the book. I understand the content in half. Anyway, I had to return it to the library because the return date has just come. I will borrow it again then finish to read the last of the diary. Even if autumn has come.

どうやって
たどり着く
そして生き抜く

このスキマ、もあるように見えないスキマから、そして土も無さそうで水はどうする的な環境で、ここまで成長している…。こういうタイプのスキマ草も結構見かけます。いつ見ても驚き敬服です。
そしてその出会いが一期一会なのも知っています。後日再会を期してその場所を通ったとしても、会えるとは限らないです。ある日(恐らく)、ニンゲンにピッと引き抜かれておしまい。サヨナラ。

There is a little gap? or little gap? Also, there wouldn't be soil and hardly get water. That kind of environment, this plant( I call it sukima-soh )has been living. I see many like this plants. Whenever I see them, I am surprised and appreciate.
I know our meeting is like once in the lifetime meeting. After that, I expect to see them again but sometimes I can't see them again. I guess that a human might pull them out. Good-bye.

In the grass

シジミチョウ科の蝶だと思うのですが。近所の公園の中の歩道を歩いていて、10分ほどで10頭ほど見かけました。多いんでしょうか、少ないんでしょうか？ いずれにせよ、そこにいて欲しい昆虫を見られるのは楽しいことですね。

I think that they are a kind of lycaenid. When I was walking through the footpath in the park for around 10 minutes, I met 10 lycaenid. Is it many or not? Anyway, I am happy to meet them, as I would like them to be there.

ふと見てないな〜と思って、あまり行かない方へお散歩に行きましたら、咲いていました。
彼岸花にもいまだ続くこの暑さに、戸惑いがあるのかしら。


I thought that I haven't seen any spider lilies, went to a place where I haven't been frequently, I found them blooming.
I am wondering if they would be bewildered by still-being-hot days.

例え葉は
全て喰われども
紫陽花咲く

Even though
All of my leaves are eaten
I, hydrangea is blooming

結構大きな紫陽花で、もりもりの葉がほとんど虫喰い(？)になってしまっていたんですが、一本(と呼ぶのかな？)だけ、花を咲かせていました。根性紫陽花…と感動してしまいました。

It's a quite big hydrangea. It had a lot of leaves but most of them were eaten(?) by some insects(?). (Or, sickness?) It had only one flower (can I call it like that?), blooming. I appreciated this hydrangea, it had guts!

夏の終わり
秋の始まり
どっちなんだ

It's the ending of summer
It's the beginning of autumn
Which is it

夏が長いのはイヤなんだ
ツクツクボウシは好きだけど
秋風爽やか、吹いてくれ
と、詩っぽいものを作ったりして、気分を紛らわすしかナイですね。それにしても、暑い！ ですね…。

I prefer a short time for summer
I love listening to cicadas's songs
I miss a cool wind in autumn
I made a kind of poem like that. I would like to distract myself from this late-summer heat. It's so hot & humid, isn't it?

オサンポ walk - 鳥bird: ハンターカラス the hunter crow

秋日和
カラス狙うや
スズメ群れ

It's an autumn day
The crow is hunting
A group of sparrow

スズメたちの鳴き声だったかは確証がないです。カラスが一羽(実はもう一羽いました)、木の中に集まって今日の出来事を報告し合っている(？)小鳥たちを狙っていたのかな、と思いました。だとしたら、あの台風を何とか生き延びたのだから、食わんといて。

I am not sure if the songs belonged to sparrow. That crow (actually, there was another crow) seemed to hunt the birds who were chatting about their day, what happened(?). I hope the crow had mercy on the birds who survived the typhoon last week. Please not try to eat them.
