大晦日(new year's eve)

今日は、おおつごもり（大晦）、みそか（晦日・三十日）．．．。
二千九年、今年もいよいよ今日を残すのみとなりました。

閉塞的な経済不況、地球温暖化問題、冷戦と相次ぐテロの応酬、
人類の進化？に相反して、自然環境破壊という深刻な事態など、
先の見えない世相を映してか、変革を求める一年でもありました。

社会や政府は地球環境問題を提起しつつも、利権優先へと偏り。
企業やマスコミはその本質を黙殺し、美辞麗句な建て前だけ謳歌。
自由経済が生み出した究極エゴイズムが、人間社会に深く浸透し、
何方此方もが本当に深刻な問題を覚えぬまま、我田引水に奔走。

人類は利権と快適さを追求した為、膨大なエネルギー消費を行い、
光熱は大気へ放出され、地球表面をガン細胞の如く蝕み続けた。
そして年追う毎に、自然環境は潰され、本来の生態系は破壊され、
人間による人間の為の人間だけの地球が、自然環境破壊の姿です。

今、地球環境が危機的状況にあると、誰もが感じているはずなのに、
誰もが個々に生きていく為に精一杯な時代故、それは必然なのか、
その問題の深刻さを見て見ぬ振りして、根本的解決策を未だ語らず。

我が家の地鶏達は、六夫二妻制を長く保っています。

以前は一夫か二夫多妻でしたが、イタチなどに襲われたり、
蛇に丸飲みされたり、台風で飛散したりで何度も全滅しました。

ですので、その経験から数年前に小屋を完全防御した後は、
幸いなことに被害もなく、現状の個体数を維持しています。

ただ少し困ったことに、♂が多いと、卵にはなかなか有り付けず、
餌ばかり費やして非生産的であると、感じている昨今であります。

cheeze house

経年変化と台風直撃により、ヨレヨレボロボロとなった犬小屋を新調しました。

ネットショップの年末バーゲンで、送料加算しても安いと思える価格だったので、
ついボタンクリックしてしまいました。

しかしそれは飼い主の言い分であって、実際そこに住む彼cheeze君にとっては、
急に真新しい小屋にと言っても、そこはそれ、長年親しんだ古屋が良かったのか、
なかなかそこに有り付こうとはせず、少しの間はコンクリートの土間暮らしでした。

それでも彼は順応性が高いのか、それとも諦めが早いのか、ただ単純だけなのか、
一度入って具合が良かったらしく、今はお気に入りの場所としてそこに在ります。

大掃除(The general cleaning in the end of the year)

．．．今年もいよいよ押し詰まってきました。

先週末、今年何度目かの忘年会がありました。

その日、市街へ向かう幹線道路は随分手前から大渋滞。

歓楽街はこの不況にも拘わらず、人人人でごった返し、
どの店もここぞとばかり華やぎ、賑やかで満杯状態でした。

．．．そして昨日からぼつぼつ、年末の大掃除を始めました。

部屋の片づけ、ガラス拭き、庭の落ち葉集め、庭木の剪定、
車庫や倉庫を片づけ、古雑誌の廃棄、洗車ワックスがけ、
そしてPCのクリーンアップなどなど．．．

大掃除は一日一時間として、二～三日仕事となりそうです。

柿の実

裏庭にある成り木の中でも、より愉しませてくれるのが、この柿の木です。

勿論、裏年表年による収穫の違いはあれど、毎年不自由なく頂いてます。

そしてその恩恵に与るのは、なにも私たちだけではありません。

山鳥や鶏、イタチや昆虫、そして柿木自身もその果実を必要としています。

今年も高い梢に未だ一つ実が残り、きっと誰かがその福を授かるのでしょう。

ツグミ(Dusky Thrush)

．．．私の仕事は、今日より年末年始休暇に入りました。

久しぶりにゆっくりした朝を迎えるべく、惰眠を貪っていると、
庭の黒鉄黐に訪れたツグミの啼き声に目覚めさせられました。

口をつぐむの意味から「ツグミ」と名付けられたようですが、
「クァックワッ、ケケケ．．．」と結構けたたましく啼くこともあり、
今朝は障子ガラス越しに鋭く聞こえてきました。

冬至(The winter solstice)

今日は冬至、一年中で最も夜の長い日。そして始まりの日とされています。
