Niimi English Salon #152

I am so sorry for my late update, but we had Niimi English Salon's 152nd session on February 28.

The guest speaker for that evening was Keiji Wake sensei, the vice principal of junior high school division of Okayama-ken Kenko no Mori Support School.

Mr. Wake was sent to Tehran Japanese School in Iran ten years ago and taught there for three years.

He showed us many pictures and talked about his experiences there.

In the Japanese School, there were about 30 pupils and students in elementary and junior high grades combined, and eight teachers including a principal teach the students.

He shared a lot of facts with us, and we learned a lot about Iran and its life.

Mr. Wake asked one of his successors to send Iranian tea and snack, and brought the to the salon so that the participants could enjoy the Iranian tastes.

He told us about the beautiful carpet which he had had a craftsman weave just like the picture of Korakuen Garden in Okayama.

I was long hoping to have Wake-sensei talk about his experiences in Iran and it was good to have the dream come true.

Thank you, Wake-sensei!
