昨年5月4日付の記事「現代の奴隷制に切り込む、『ヒューマン・トラフィック』（アメリカ、カナダ/2005年）」で本作と同じテーマを扱ったテレビドラマ「ヒューマン・トラフィック」を取り上げました。時系列的に見れば、本作の方が先行していたんですね。この手の作品はあまり日本とは関係が薄いので話題にならないという理由からでしょうか、タイムリーには輸入されません。
また、ジャスティン・ケリガン監督の1999年のイギリス映画に「ヒューマン・トラフィック」があることを知りました。内容は次のようなもので、人身売買とは関係がないようですが、主演は本作にも出演しているジョン・シムでした。
「週末のパーティーだけを楽しみに生きている現代のイギリスの若者達。ジーンズ・ショップで働く青年ジップの悩みは多い。突然働いている店に元恋人が彼氏連れで現れ、娼婦で生計を立てている母親は男を家に連れ込んでは仕事に励む。しかもドラッグのやりすぎでどうやら下の方が正常に働かない・・・・・。そんな彼の友達たちも悩みを抱えて毎日を過ごし、彼らの唯一の心のよりどころは週末のパーティーで・・・」・。

Chris hates bats. His mother involved him in community theatre, while his father, a former pro-football player, encouraged Potter's passion for baseball, football and ice hockey.
