Having lost my father, I sometimes think how many years are left in my life.
I don't know how many years are left, but I would like to live each day and each year as fully as I can.
I have recently found out that the author of this book, Alfred Kazin, a writer and literature critic was also born on June 5, 1915 and died on his 83rd birthday, June 5, 1998.
As a fellow member of June-5 club, I would like to reread this book and study about American Literature more this year.

昨日は朝ドラの『エール』でも赤ちゃんが誕生していて、僕と一緒の誕生日だと思いました。
昨年父を亡くして最初の誕生日ですが、父の亡くなった年齢から逆算してあと何年生きられるかと時々計算してみたりします。
あと何年かわかりませんが残っている人生を有意義に過ごしたいと思います。
学生時代に(部分的に)読んだOn Native Groundsの著者Alfred Kazinが6月5日生まれであることを最近知りました(彼はさらに83歳の誕生日に亡くなっているようです)。
今年はこの書を再読し、アメリカ文学の理解を深めたいと思います。
