St John's Lighthouse, Co Down
FIVE NEW PROPERTIES at lighthouses around the country can be rented as holiday homes from today.

The properties include two houses at both St John’s Point in Co Down and St John’s Point in Co Donegal, and a fifth property in Blackhead, Co Antrim.
St Johns Point in Co Donegal
The buildings, on offer as short-term accommodation, are in addition to six other lighthouse properties that are available through a partnership between the Irish Landmark Trust and the Commissioners of Irish Lights.
Speaking at today’s launch, Irish Landmark CEO Mary O’Brien said: “Staying at our lighthouse properties allows guests to live the life of lightkeeper during their short stay in a truly memorable place.”

Blackhead Lighthouse, Co Antrim
Yvonne Shields, CEO of Irish Lights added that the Commission has played a role in providing navigation services for nearly 250 years, “as the keepers and custodians of some of the most spectacular maritime heritage properties on the island of Ireland”.
（抜粋）加えて、アイルランドの灯台に関わる事業（機関）は、２５０年に近い間、島国アイルランドのすばらしい海に関する資産を管理し、航行管理の役割を果たしてきたと述べています。

こうした公的（？）な設備を民泊可能にするアイデアは面白いですね。 灯台守のためのハウスが隣接しているようなので、その一部を開放すれば、体験宿泊的なことが可能と言うことなのでしょう。
灯台守の業務がどれほどの内容なのかは全く知りませんが、こうしたところでの滞在も悪くはないかも・・・。 予約照会などの仕組みまでは記述されていないので不明ですが、管理機関名が出ているので検索すればみつかるかも知れません。
ちなみに、 lighthouse keeper は ”灯台守” ですが、light housekeeper は ”（体重の）軽い家政婦” の意味になるそうです（辞書）。

暗闇の海を安全に航行する為の灯台ですが、日本の政治の安全航行を誘導する灯台は機能しているのでしょうか？ ・・・
