There were the Five Roads in Japan in the Edo era. This is the one of them, the Nakasendo Road. The old Nakasendo Road, around here, becomes a common street of the Takinogawa town. The distance from the central point of Edo, Nihonbashi, is about eighty kilometers. Those days the Tokugawa government built a town for the conveniences of transportation every eight kilo meters. The first town (the gate town) of the Nakasendo is the Itabashi where was around here and now the Itabashi station of the Japanerse Railroad Company ltd is five minutes walk from this place.

The old beautiful wife and white haired husband reply it was the Indian Curry.
So I order a dish of the European Curry.

I order a bawl of five-kind toppings noodle and they serve firstly this service small dish of kinpira-gobo (fried and boiled chopped burdock root). This is my first experience in my life. In Japan usually they wouldn't serve a service small dish before noodle menu.

There were lots of restaurants like this place before in the down town of Tokyo.
I remember the days when I started the life of Tokyo almost forty years ago.
The young couple opened the place and have lived and gotten their ages here.
They are now old. And the clients are old. The atmosphere is very kind and comfortable. I am old too.
