窯焚き本番 ／ kiln fired

窯焚きです。

熱いけれども、寒いです（笑）
顔（窯側）は、火に照らされて熱い。
背中は、風が吹き抜けてとっても寒い（笑）

これで窯の中は1160度ぐらいだったかな。


先日窯詰めをしていた時に見た穴。作品が見えています。

今日。炎が渦巻いて何も見えません。


窯に薪をくべているところ。


最後の攻め焚き。細かい木切れを入れて炎を大きくします。

あちあちあち。

今回は、窯を半分しか使わない詰め方をしたので、
昨日朝から火を絶やさないようにして、今日の夜の8時には終わりました。
いつもは、明日の未明（早朝2時ぐらい）に終わるのですが・・。

明日は一日冷まします。どんな窯かなぁ～。たのしみです。

I guess the inside of the kiln was about 1160 degrees Celsius.

火が入りました。


皆でそろって柏手を打ち、良い窯になるよう祈りました。

窯準備 ／ Prepare the kiln

登り窯の準備が着々と進められております。
今日は、棚の上の部分に大きな作品を詰めました。

その数日前、棚を組んでいた時のお話。

薪をくべる穴からの四元。大まじめに仕事をしております。


先ほどの場所を、大きな入口から見たところ。
作品を入れる場所の一番下を作っております。
水平にしておかなくては作品が倒れちゃいます。

もちろんもちろん、大真面目。


だ～れだ？（笑）

真面目じゃなかった～！（笑）
そんな笑いの余裕もないとね。ガッチガチではいい窯になりませんからね。

明日、窯に作品を詰め切って火が入る予定です。
良い窯になるよう頑張りますね。

登り窯 ／ Climbing Kiln

実は・・登り窯を焚く日が迫ってきています。

今まで、あまりの忙しさで話がまとめられないという状態でした（笑）

今日、棚組をしたので、いよいよ迫ってきた～！ヤバいー！
という事で、やっとこさ写真も撮れたのでお知らせいたします（笑）

前回の登り窯から、棚組を二人でするようになったので、
仕事が早く進みます。鼻歌歌えちゃいそうな勢いです（笑）


窯の中の棚を組んいる最中。
私では背が届かなかったから、今は超楽ちんなんです。

そして、釉薬も掛けまくっています。
窯焚き本番、来週の火曜日なんですもん。

そのお話（釉薬掛けなど）は、また後日。

Actually ... The day we bake the climbing kiln is approaching.

Since last time, we started preparing the kiln's room by two people,

ロクロ教室 ／ Electric Wheel Class

先日、隔週金曜日にクラスの方々が、
『ロクロ教室もしてみたい！』とリクエストをくださったので実現しました。

とっても楽しそうに、かつ集中もして
沢山のお化けの原型を作っておられました。

ね？上手なとんがり頭でしょう？

私のお化けよりいい頭・・（笑）


これらは次の授業に削られて、ギリギリハロウィンに間に合うか・・なぁ？
もう10月24日か・・。
来年の夏かハロウィンにお使いいただけるといいな。

お香をたいて口から煙をぐわ～と出させるか・・（笑）


何はともあれ、回転運動から作りだされるものは、
丸しかできないと思いがちだけれども・・

キチーンとした器も素晴らしい、でも遊び心も忘れてはいけないよ～。
何ができるか探しながら楽しもうよ！
という事を思い出させてくれた授業でした。

皆さんの出来上がりが楽しみです。

A round vessel is also wonderful, but do not forget the playfulness ~.
