禅仏教というのは、わりに海外の人に人気がある。この前も
Big in Japan: What is the sound of one hand clapping?で、隻手音声の公案に関する投稿があった。

Zen (禅) is all about explaining the unexplainable...

禅とは、説明できないことを説明することである・・・・？ちょっとなああ。
これでは理論仏教になってしまう。
隻手音声の公案に関して、

すべての音を超越し、音のない音に到達しなくてはいけない・・・・？ちょっとなああ。
　
　禅仏教の理論的側面の理解ということでは、英語圏でいえば、ケンウィルバーやエックハルト・トールで十分だと思う。
　
　現代相似禅評論という本がある。修行の過程を暴露してしまって大変問題になった本である。こちらの方が、禅の風趣をよく伝えている。英訳もでている。

要点は、無分別=直接性（いま、ここ）=念念不停流といったところだろうが、体得・体現しなければ意味がない、という代物だろう。。
