Every new year holidays I have a wooden bowl of soup with mochi.

私の実家は、お正月三が日は、お雑煮は殿方が
作る風習があるのです。
嫁ぎ先には、その習慣はないのに、ちゃっかり持ち込んで、
今年もお雑煮を作らずじまいでした(*^m^*)ムフッ
時々覗いていたんですが、日本語でレスもオーケーなんですね（笑^_^;)
今年は是非オフ会実現したいですね。

The mochi of my hometown is square, but I prefer the round shpe to the square one for zouni. I think it is easier to eat round shape mochi than round one in zoni.
When I have natto-mochi or abekawa-mochi,
I like the square one.
It's wonderful tradition to cook zoni by men!
