"All that remains" by Patricia Cornwell

These days I spend almost two hours on the trains every day.
I always read a paper book.
Sometimes I get shocked to find I've passed the station to change or get off the train.
This mystery made me fail to do four times in the ten days.
It is very interesting book.

There is a serial killer who killed four couples in the past. Its target is only a young couple. The girl of the new victim couple is the daugter of a woman exective. Dr. Kay Scarpetta starts to inquire but political pressure soon come over her.
One day she get aware that the killing areas are near the secret military base where is the training camp for the soldiers of secret operation. Army generals have fears of the crime by a mad soldier and use the political power to defense their reputation with CIA.

I have already read more than three hundred mysteries. So I wonder if the fear of American army would not be true. But this fear makes them to frame up against the woman exective who is the mother of victim. CIA and big newspapers cooperate to get rid of her from the political world. Dr. Scarpetta faces to the American ugliness. And the CIA almost suceeds to stop Dr. Scarpetta's activity.
But she finaly finds the true criminal and solves the murder case.
