What can be done to curb hate speech on the Internet? The answer as of now is nothing. How do you stop Internet hate speech when actual hate speech cannot be regulated? The United States cannot and will not support any law that regulates or encroaches upon freedom of speech. Therefore Internet hate speech will only end when racism is ended or somehow regulated.

　
　米国でも人種差別的言説がネットで盛況。表現の自由があるから、結局実社会の人種差別がなくならないかぎり、ネット上でもなくならないだろう、と。

　日本でも人種差別表現がネットでは跋扈しているようであるが、あまり気持のいいものではない。

HK Filipinos fear backlash

HONG KONG - HONG Kong's Filipino community, which includes legions of vulnerable household helpers, on Wednesday voiced fears of retribution following the bloody end to a hostage drama in Manila.

The main Filipino labour union said there had been at least one sacking of a maid by a Hong Kong employer angry over the siege in which an ex-policeman seized a busload of Hong Kong tourists on Monday.

The hijacking triggered a 12-hour standoff that ended in a bloodbath following a chaotic assault on the bus by Philippine police, leaving eight Hong Kong tourists dead.

考えてみれば日本は先進国なのに、スパイはない、核武装もない。
先進国にあわせるのが好きな進歩主義者よ、この点もやっぱし、進歩すべきじゃないか？

まず、日本に来る前に日本語を学ぶ機会を充実すべきだろう。

賛成だ。日本語学校を海外で作って漫画ブームと同様に日本語ブームを作るくらいの意気込みを民間の学校ももつべきだ、と思う。

　

　滞在期間を見直して、受験の機会も拡大したい。働きながら学ぶだけでなく、奨学金をもらって資格をとれる養成校などで学ぶコースも増やせないものだろうか。

グッドアイデアだ。

　専門知識は英語などで試験し、仕事に必要な日本語力のテストは別に行うというふうに、試験のあり方も検討すべき課題といえる。

という点はどうか。介護士と看護士では違うだろうが、看護士の場合、仕事場で使う日本語は専門用語でも習得しておかないと事故のもとになる。

　それと、それ以前に、やはり、日本社会の全体で、外国人を受け入れる体制の意識をもっと高めることだ。

　電車の中で外国人は避けられる、とか、外国人という理由で部屋の賃貸を拒否された、などという不満は外国人からよく聞く。

　こうした不合理をメディアや政府公報などで、広く国民に伝えることが重要だ。

The traditional media, built as they are on the notion of fair-minded coverage of equally responsible, equally reasonable political forces, can barely process what's going on. You literally cannot understand the current moment without watching the political satirists Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. But, hey, they're only comedians.

　NYのグランドゼロ問題がかなりエスカレートしているみたいだね。
　メディアもかなり混乱しているようで、コルバートなどのコメディアンによる政治風刺によってしか、実態はわからない、くらいらしい。


　この問題、”黒人”大統領への共和党の反発とみている。

As thousands of American troops prepare to return from a war zone, there could be many ugly and unexpected consequences. Multiple deployments and insufficient treatment has led some recent vets to end up on the street.

In San Diego, California, thousands of vets from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars are sleeping on the streets.

The largest growing population of homeless women in San Diego is veterans returning from current combats, according to Catholic Charities, which operates shelters around the city.

“It only takes one or two people to say 'I don’t know' or, 'no, we can’t help you,' for them to walk away and think that there’s no help for them,” said Brisson. “You get hooked on drugs, alcohol and they’re not aware enough to take advantage of the programs.”

He says that over the past few years, the number of more recent veterans has begun to outnumber the homeless Vietnam veterans.

　そういう意味じゃあ、Japan Times なんていうのも、中国・韓国・米国などのナショナリストの集合みたいな記事を書くことも多いね。


　嫌日ヘイトブログの主催者をコラミストに持ったりしているし。

　NYTもLAT　ニューヨークやロスに関する記事ばかりではないだし、Japan Times ももっと国際的なニュースを国際的な観点に立って取り上げたらどうか？

　敵国メディアや、他民族中心主義メディアによる日本関連記事と国際的なリベラルとの違いは、後者が、２重基準を使わずに、各国公平な批判ができる、ということではないかな？


　リクルートがこうした新聞社に広告を出すのはなにかわけでもあるのだろうか？
