２０１０年上海世界博覧会（上海万博）が５月１日に始まる。中国では“世博“と言っている。 世博開幕に合わせて地下鉄の新路線が次々と開通したり新車のワンボックスタイプのタクシーや世博会場行きの路線バスが走り始めたりして上海の街は世博で盛りあがっている。
開幕時の交通渋滞を回避するため4/30から5/4まで上海市だけ５連休になった。(他の都市は３連休) １９７０年の大阪万博のときはＯＯ農協と書かれたお揃いの帽子をかぶった集団が目についたが、２０１０年の上海世界博覧会も少し生活に余裕がでた中国の地方に住むお百姓さんや工員さんが大挙してやってくるのではないかと予想する。今の中国は１９７０年頃の日本の生活水準だろうか？ 地方に行くと７０年当時の日本にまだまだ届かない貧しい生活をしている人も多い。 一方上海のような都会はざっくり７０年ごろの日本の水準だろうか。異論もあろうが、私は中国の一般人の生活水準はまだ日本から４０年から５０年は遅れていると思う。しかし中国の変化のスピードは速くこのペースで行けばあと１０年もすれば停滞している日本に追いつき２０年もすれば日本を追い越しているだろう。しかしこれまで８０年の改革開放後ほぼ順調に歩んできた中国であるが果たしてこのまま順調に発展を続けることができるだろうか？ いつかそのうち中国社会に大混乱が起きると予想する人は意外に多い。<o:p></o:p>
