ＣＤのOBIって？

CDをebayで検索していたら、面白いのを見つけちゃった。
写真は例のMercury Revのガのジャケットね。台湾版、らしい。
商品名は「MERCURY REV The Secret Migration CD (2005) w/OBI RARE」
とあるので、帯つき、ふーん、日本版かな？って思って見たら、
台湾版だし。台湾版でも「帯」って言うんだな・・・。
そして、下の方に、「帯」の解説が。

Box(slipcase)/OBI strip : It is the paper strip that is usually
tied around the left side of the CD/LP cover, or a slipcase holds
the jewel case. The purpose of the box or obi strip is to translate
the title into different language and provide useful information
for the consumers.

へ～～～～～～～～～～ぇ。（って番組はまだやっているんだろうか？）
津波、や、すもー、や、おくら、と同じように「おび」も世界に通じる
日本語になりつつある・・・・かもしれない？！
