他者に対し「本音」を隠して言うことは、「建前」と呼ばれる。これは必ずしも不正直でない。
調和を保つため、「建前」を言う。この場合、他者を傷つける意図はない。
仏陀が「嘘も方便」と言った。穏やかにものを言うことは、他者と良好な関係を保つため重要である。
Our honest thoughts and feelings are called “hone”.
What we say to others while hiding our “honnne” is called “tatemae”. This is not neccesarily dishonest.
In order to keep harmony, we say “tatemae”. In this case, we don’t intend to harm others.
Budda said, “Circumstances may justify a lie.” To say something mildly is important to keep good relationship with others.
