水圏環境コミュニケーション学実習が終了しました。

閉伊川源流探検、兜明神の登頂を経験し、またまちづくり講演会を開催し、さらに班ごとに神社班，食文化班、カヤッキング班、農業班、魚類相調査班，町づくり班に別れ町歩きを行いながらポスターを作成。対等で対話して学び合う協働的コミュニケーションについて理解を深めました。

Talking about Aquatic Marine Environmental Education at Japan Society of Oceanography

Today, I have a presentation about Aquatic Marine Environmental Education Progress in Society of oceanography in Kagoshima University.
At first, I introduced huge typhoon damage in Miyako area. Because I was thinking the information about typhoon was caused sea change. As a scientist, what we make people understand and act is crucial important. That is a reason why the theory of AMEE is important.
Next, I introduced learning cycle theory. LC is basic knowledge to conduct AMEE. I think many researcher agreed with the AMEE theory, but they could not realize the difficulties to educate using AMEE theory.
And third is introduction of AMEE research. Most important research recently is relationship between LC and Self determination theory SDT.
Finally, Dr. Umezawa, Nagasaki University talked final greeting and evaluate our program.
But, most researcher could not understand how to collaborate with general public, industry, government. And facilitation ability also is needed. But very long term must be acquired to master the ability.
And also I introduced AMEA promoting ocean literacy. In the future, as a member of AMEA, collaboration among many stakeholders as researchers, educators, fisherman, industry, students and families will be successfully done to promote ocean literacy society.

And Dr. Chang's suggestion also makes me realize that the philosophy is important. What is philosophy is not only Europe but also Asia. In Asia, we have a lot of
philosophy such as Confucius and
Buddhism.
But, in this presentation, Dr. Chang mentioned Japanese Jomon culture connecting and respecting nature relatedness. And he did unit mention but he emphasized thing is Dr. Wu researching Tao. Tao is Chinese philosophy and really related to Jomon philosophy.
I talked with Dr.Wu about the Tao. The Tao is well known as Muisizen means not actually not understand, but said strongly connect to Buddhism. After I came back to Japan, I research the meanings. I found the Roshi and Soji's philosophy. The center of the philosophy is called "Boku". Boku is basic tree material to make something. When you make something such as desk, chair, the boku change anything to use. This is meaning is that you are boku at first, there is nothing meaning, but if you want to do be something, you
can creat the meaning. Hence, we must respect and understand each other what you are, including nature.

なぜ海洋産業が重要なのか。Why do you focused on ocean industry.?

At the first session of the conference, marine industrial development devision, someone asked the presenters that why you focused on ocean industry. Presenters answered the question that Taiwan is island country, or marine industry have a possibility to develop. But questioner could not realize, and no one can answered the question appropriately. I thought that she wanted to ask presenters why you focus attention on the ocean. Hence I talked following. "Fisheries industry depends on ocean. But, fisherman in Japan recently realized that marine resources strongly depend on land materials such as snow thaw, mineral and nutrition through the river. They say land is crucial important for marine organisms and fisherman. But how many people who lives in the land Know how the land is influence to the ocean. But how many people who lives in the land can understand the importance of ocean? That's why we need to make them know the importance of nature.

Asia Marine Educators Association Conference was successfully closed at 8. Sep. in NTOU.

This success was given by President Dr. Chang and Faculty staff including Dr. Wu, Director of

Marine Education Center, NTOU and students.

I appreciate all the staff.

At closing ceremony, I was impressed Taiwan educator's passionate opinion,"In Taiwan, many

NGO staff have engaged to improve marine environment, but it is very difficult agenda. How do you

solve this problem? How does this association contribute?"

Dr. Chang answered the question "Our country's engagement is now beginning, this association will contribute these local problems by uniting each Asian countries. "

"For example, Japan is very clean, because people living in the county, connecting the nature and respect the nature, care the nature, I lived in one year, I know very well, and also I visited other countries in the world. don't you think that Dr. Sasaki?"

"(I am pleasure to hear that, but), I was also harmful before 20 years. What I want to say is that we must focus on individual's growth, community development, not country, our AMEA will break the wall among the countries and research and consider how to grow each people to make sustainable development ocean"

I felt many attendees agreed with our thinking.

And I realized the Dr.Chang suggestion is crucial important in our country, because our country have been changed since 1990's, because of globalization, fragmentation of social event. old goodness history have been just broken since then, merely remained in local village. His suggestion meant that we must rethink the importance of the traditional culture.
