今日はスラバヤの回想に…

今年のGW、ボルネオでたくさん出会えたナンヨウショウビン。
そのおかげで探し方はある程度わかっていたので、インドネシアのスラバヤでも、ヒメアオ探しついでに探してみよっかなと思っていました。
すると、探すまでもなく簡単に出遭えました。どこにでもいるんですかね笑

I couold watch collared kingfishers in Surabaya, too. Actually, I watched them many times in Borneo on this May, so I learned how to find them in mangroves.
However, it appeared before I started to find. It's too easy to find here. Lucky :)
↑ナンヨウショウビンです。
この色合い、いつ見ても美しい。暗いところではシックに、明るいところでは煌めくこの美しさ。
さて、興味深いのは、複数個体で行動している点でした。ボルネオでもそうでしたが…
このときは2～3個体でうろちょろしていましたが、ボルネオでは6、7羽で行動していました。
群れで行動しているのか、番で行動しているのか、巣立ち雛を連れて行動しているのか、それともその他何やかんや（縄張り間のいざこざ等）で、同地点に複数個体いる状況になりやすかったのか。
まずは図鑑眺めてみましょう。海外渡航が少しずつ増えるとともに、現地で選んだ図鑑も少しずつ増えてきました。楽しい～
What a beautiful kingfisher...There is also a beautiful species of kingfisher in Japan, but it has different beautifulness.
Of course, one of the most interesting point is its behavior for me. This is because, when I was in phD course(I quited it before graduation), my research was about an animal behavior such as unique foraging tactics of birds.
By the way, when I saw them here and in Surabaya, few individuals were moving together. Were they flocks??
In Japan, several species of kingfishers usually moving alone or with their partner and/or fledged chicks. Umm...I need to open a guidebook first.

その一方で、自分の中では、親しみやすい鳥のイメージが出来上がっていっています。
ちょっと騒がしく鳴きながら、林内や細い水路の上を飛び、ふわっと枝に舞い降りる。その瞬間を観察できる嬉しさ。
アジア圏、楽しいですね。
