Chelsea have said they will not allow injured star Michael Ballack to travel to Germany to meet with coach Joachim Loew.
チェルシーは、怪我治療中のバラックが、レーヴとの会談のためにドイツへ出向くことを許可しない、としている。

Loew and Ballack are due to meet after the two clashed over recent statements made by the midfield ace.
意見の衝突があって、話し合いを持つことになっていたレーヴとバラック。
Ballack criticised the coach for not showing respect to senior players, which has caused huge controversy back in Germany.
バラックのレーヴ監督批判が、母国ドイツで、大論争を巻き起こしている。

Ballack said he was willing to meet Loew - only if Chelsea allowed it. But the London giants have now stated that their player - currently recovering from foot surgery - will not be going anywhere.
チェルシーから許可が下りれば、喜んでレーヴとの会談に応ずると述べていたバラックだったが、チェルシー側は、手術後の回復を待つバラックのドイツ行きを認めず

Instead coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has told Loew he is welcome to come to England and talk with Ballack.

The German Football Federation (DFB) confirmed that Chelsea had told them of their decision.

"We have received a fax from Chelsea informing us that the club will not allow Ballack to go to Germany for health reasons," DFB spokesman Harald Stenger confirmed.

Former stars Jurgen Klinsmann and Lother Matthaus have both backed Loew and criticised Ballack's stance, whereas team-mates such as Torsten Frings have thrown their support behind the Chelsea star.

Michael Ballack has issued a damning response to national coach Joachim Low's request that the pair meet in Germany to discuss Ballack's comments in a newspaper interview where he questioned his coach's decisions.
バラックは、代表監督レーヴの批判的な反応に対して、コメントした。レーヴは、新聞インタヴューで、監督決定に疑問を投げかけたバラックと、話し合いを持つよう要請を出している。

Ballack stated that Low had been disrespectful to experienced international colleagues Torsten Frings and Kevin Kuranyi.
バラックはインタヴューの中で、レーヴは国際経験豊富なフリングス、クラニーに対して、敬意に欠ける扱いをした、と述べている。

While Frings was left out of the team for the World Cup qualifiers against Russia and Wales, Kuranyi was left out of the squad altogether against Russia and he subsequently walked out at half-time.

Ballack told Bild: "The German Football Association will have to arrange it with my employers Chelsea.

"Michael has been around long enough to notice when something is not right. When he feels that something is not going right, then it is his right to speak up.

どちらの意見が妥当なのか、私には分かりませんが、今回バラック氏は、なぜ言いたいことを直接レーヴさんに言わずに、メディアに向けて発してしまったのか、ここが気になります。よほど腹に据えかねる経緯があったのかなあ。ちょっと普段の冷静さを失ってしまってるように感じちゃうのです。

とにかくバラック氏もレーヴ氏も、頭冷やして、しっかり話し合ってくださいませ。バラック、フリングスはまだまだ代表チームにとって、大切なプレーヤーでしょ、レーヴさん。問題解決の相談相手だったバラックがいなくなったら、あなた、どうするの？追放！などと言ったら、許しませんからね！

FAZ Interview （１）

ドイツ代表チーム内に、なにやら不協和音が生じている様子ですね。バラックがフリングスとクラニーの扱いをめぐって、FAZ紙インタヴューでレーヴを批判したとか。ビアホフとの反目記事といい、ここのところ、不穏な雰囲気漂っています。どうした訳でしょうか。クラニー、フリングスに続き、バラックまでもが、レーヴ批判。早く双方、穏やかに冷静に、話し合える機会を作って、騒ぎを収めてもらいたいものです。

発端となったインタヴュー記事を転載して、テキトーな訳を付けておきます。

The interview:
FAZ:“You had an operation on both feet.How do you feel?“
記者：両足手術を受けたそうですが、具合はいかがですか？

Ballack:“I trust in the doctors.They said,that I will be able to make training again in about 1 or 2 weeks.I have got many best wishes from many people.I was very pleased about that.“
バラック：ドクター達を信頼しています。1～2週間でトレーニングを始められる、と聞いています。沢山の励ましの言葉をもらいました。とても有難く思っています。

FAZ:“Who were these people?“
記者：誰たちからの励ましの言葉ですか？
Ballack:“The Chelsea coach,many team colleagues,some FC Bayern players and Jose Mourinho.“
バラック：チェルシー監督、多くのチームメート達、バイエルンのプレーヤー達とジョゼ・モーリーニョからです。

Especially Torsten Frings.He was and he is a first 11 player.He is constantly playing on a high level in his club in the B.L. and the C.L.At the Euro’08 he had a broken rib.I know Torsten since the Under 21 team.I hope,he will not resign and retire.“

Ballack:“Torsten has made 80 international matches in the national team.Another players should be better than him and should prove that during a longer time.Ok,at present Torsten isn’t in the best shape after his injury,but he is still playing at a high level.This is a fact.I feel he can’t win this competition fight.“

FAZ:“Do you think,Jogi Löw doesn’t plan anymore with Frings?“

Ballack:“I don’t know.But if he doesn’t want Torsten anymore,he should talk to hin in a honest way.As an experienced national team player you can expect respect and loyality.
I’m thinking about a case of the past:Olli Kahn.The competition with Jens Lehmann before w.c.’06 he couldn’t win.Or the competition Wörns vs.Metzelder.Wörns was constantly playing in his club,Metzelder was sitting on the bench.I hope,that I’m not right with my fears concerning Torsten.“

It's been a busy time for Chelsea club doctor Bryan English and his staff as a long list of players have reported injury problems during the past month.

English has given Chelsea TV a bulletin on the various recoveries, beginning with Michael Ballack who Felipe Scolari reported today (Friday) will be out for two-to-three weeks.

'I had a call from the German medical team saying Michael Ballack had been playing on Wednesday in quite severe pain down towards the third and fourth toes in his right foot,' English said.

Winger Piotr Trochowski unleashed a superb second-half strike to seal a 1-0 win over Wales on Wednesday and put Germany four points clear in their World Cup qualifying group.
後半トロホウスキーの放ったゴールで、勝利を収めたドイツは、ワールドカップ予選グループ４の中でトップ。2位ロシアとの差を4点とした。

Joachim Loew's side took a sizeable step towards claiming the single guaranteed place at South Africa 2010 from Group Four with three more points against a spirited Welsh side in their final qualifier of the year.

"We are really pleased to have finished the year with six points from the win over Russia (last Saturday) and Wales, it puts us in a good position for next year," said Loew. Their third win from four qualifying games means Germany are now on ten points with Russia - who beat Finland 3-0 in Moscow on Wednesday - and plucky Wales lagging behind on six each, but Germany wasted a string of chances.

"We failed to score an early goal and made life a bit hard for ourselves," said captain Michael Ballack after the win over Wales."In the first-half, we lacked the concentration and a bit of finishing, but things were better in the second-half."

The result was a bitter pillow to swallow for John Toshack's team who defended passionately, but the Germany attack finally unpicked the lock on the Welsh goal when Trochowski rifled his shot home on 72 minutes.

It was a game of two halves at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund as Germany ran out 2-1 winners over Gus Hiddink’s Russia. The home side dominated the first half with some fantastic attacking football and went two up through Podolski and Ballack. The roles were reversed in the second 45 minutes with Arshavin pulling the strings, but Germany held on.

Adler- 8.0: Looked a little nervy in the opening phase of the game, but wasn’t tested by the Russians in the first half. Saw the ball go through his legs for Arshavin’s goal at the start of the second half, but did then produce a fine save from Semak shortly after. He produced two further wonderful saves to deny Pogrebnyak with headers. He pulled off 11 saves in total on his debut to help secure all three points. An impressive debut.

Lahm- 6.5: The Bayern full back got forward well and was involved in the move which led to Ballack’s goal in the first half. He was however culpable for Arshavin’s goal after some sloppy defending against Anyukov. Spent much of the second 45 minutes defending.

A.Friedrich- 7.0: A solid enough game at right back from the Hertha Berlin defender. Put his tackles in when required and never let his side down at the back even though he was given a much busier time of it in the second half.

Mertesacker-7.0: The Werder defender had a good game in the centre against Pogrebnyak although things still look far from 100% secure at the back for Germany.

Westermann-7.0: The versatile Schalke man was asked to play alongside Per Mertesacker at centre back and he put in another solid performance to help secure three points. He was however a little to blame for the Russian goal alongside Lahm, but still put in enough important tackles to be happy with his overall performance.

Hitzlsperger-7.0: The ‘Hammer’ got the nod from Jogi Löw ahead of Werder Bremen’s Torsten Frings and the Stuttgart midfielder put in a good overall performance. Heavily involved in the first half with some incisive passes but like the whole German side was less impressive in the second period.

Ballack-7.0: The German captain grew into the game and put the finishing touch on a superb move for Germany’s second of the night. He did however look a little frustrated in the second half when a few decisions didn’t go his way and his influence on the game dipped.

Trochowski-7.5: Trochowski was lively on the left hand side but was too often a little selfish when taking on ambitious shots when laying the ball off would have been a better option. He hit the bar in the second half to be denied his first goal for Germany. He gave way to Frings ten minutes from time.

Schweinsteiger-6.0: Schweinsteiger had a relatively quiet game by his normal standards with the national team. Was given few opportunities to deliver his trade mark free kicks and balls from wide areas.

Podolski-7.5: Poldi may be struggling to get much playing time at Bayern, but he looked a world class player at times against Russia and scored his 31st goal in his 58th international. Less of a threat in the second half though as Russia controlled the second 45 minutes.

Klose-7.0: Once again the true value of Klose as a front man was highlighted against Russia. He didn’t get on the scoresheet, but his contribution in the first half bringing others into the game was admirable. He was taken off in the second half to be replaced by Mario Gomez.

Subs:

Gomez- Brought on for Klose when Löw was looking for a change with the Russians on top.

Frings- Sent on late in the second half to tighten things up in midfield.

Rolfes- Sent on late on to run the clock down a little.
