Peter Kenyon insists Chelsea will not sack Jose Mourinho and is adamant the manager has the full support of the club's board.
クラブ経営責任者・ピーター・ケニョン氏が、モウリーニョ解雇はないし
クラブ役員たちも、監督を全面的に支持していることを強調。
In recent months, Mourinho's position at Stamford Bridge has been the subject of intense speculation amid suggestions of a tense relationship with owner Roman Abramovich.
アブラモビッチとの緊張関係が取りざたされていましたけど
The likes of Guus Hiddink and Jurgen Klinsmann have been linked with the job, although Mourinho has stated his intention to fulfil his contract, which runs until 2010.

There has been little in the way of comment from the board about the Portuguese's future, but chief executive Kenyon has now moved to quell any doubts surrounding the situation.

Kenyon confirmed the former Porto coach has the full backing of The Blues' top brass and stressed there are no plans to make a change at the helm.

"Around Chelsea and our manager there's been immense speculation and I want to say some things on that.

"He has got the full support of the club and that's really important. I just hope that addresses that.

"I think we're up to 14 managers we've been linked with, but we haven't got a list, we haven't made any offers and Jose Mourinho is our manager."

Chelsea have moved to play down any worries about the contract situations of John Terry and Frank Lampard.

Blues captain Terry revealed earlier this week that discussions regarding an extension at Stamford Bridge had broken down.

Fellow England international Lampard has also reached an impasse in his efforts to secure a new deal with the Premiership champions.

But Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon is confident the current delay is nothing to be concerned about as it is simply part of the negotiation process.

Instead, Kenyon feels the club's priority, and that of Terry and Lampard, is to focus on the challenges of winning more trophies this season.

"Every contract is unique, no two contracts are the same," Kenyon told Chelsea TV.

"What's important to remember about contract speculation is that there are only two definitive stages, when the discussions start and when they end, either with an agreement or with no agreement.

"And at the moment we are in between those situations.

"Again, I don't want anything to deflect us from our main goal, winning matches and trophies. And I think the players we have been talking to agree, both John and Frank have said similar."

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho feels Portuguese defender Ricardo Carvalho doesn't get the credit he deserves because of the focus on the bigger players in his squad.

Carvalho, who will play his 50th game of the season against Newcastle at St James' Park on Sunday, has been key to Chelsea's defence this season and Mourinho feels his performances are often overlooked.

The Blues will go into Sunday's match off the back of a 4-1 win over relegation threatened West Ham, a result Mourinho was more than happy with.

The Blues boss was full of praise for his side's performance, but paid tribute to Carvalho in particular, adding: "It is Ricardo's best season with me.

"For a long period there was no Petr Cech behind him, no John Terry alongside and no Michael Essien in front and he was amazing."

Mourinho's future at Stamford Bridge has been the subject of great debate, even if The Blues cleared up some of the uncertainty on Friday.

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon insisted his club had no intention of sacking the self-styled 'Special One' and that news will come as music to the ears of Shevchenko.

The Ukrainian believes Chelsea's dream of a remarkable quadruple is testament to the skills of the former Porto boss.

Terry wants Chelsea to sort out contracts
契約問題を解決したいテリー

Captain John Terry inspired Chelsea to reach the first FA Cup Final at the new Wembley and then urged the club to end speculation over his contract situation and the futures of Frank Lampard and coach Jose Mourinho.
チェルシーをFA Cup決勝へ到達させる活力を与え続けたテリーは
自身の契約状況や、ランパード、モウリーニョの今後についての憶測が
乱れ飛ぶのを終わりにさせるよう、クラブに強く促した。

Terry confirmed for the first time that contract talks between himself and the club have broken down but insisted the situation was not irretrievable and wants them all to remain at Chelsea.

一人目はツェフ、そして決勝ゴールのバラック！！

『ツェフは、並外れて素晴らしい、などという言葉以上の働きだった。
世界最高のキーパー、というのはよく使われる言葉だけれど
手術後で、世界最高の技を見せるキーパー、というところが素晴らしい。』

『手術後、髪を失い、大きな傷跡を抱え、ヘッドギアをつけた彼を見た時
正直、大丈夫かと不安があった。以前と変わっていないだろうか？
怖がらないだろうか？ゴール前に立って、
怪我を負った時のことを思い出さないだろうか？』

『そしてあの男は、ゴール内に立ってすぐに素晴らしい動きを見せた。
私はこう思った。この男はフットボール選手だけでなく、全ての人々にとって

日替わりでヒーローが出る中、
そろそろバラック選手の番かな～っと待っておりました。

BALLACK FIRES CHELSEA TO FINAL
Chelsea's pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple shows no signs of abating after they booked a place in the first FA Cup final at the new Wembley with an extra-time victory over Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho’s side set up the first match in a potential triple-header against Manchester United thanks to a winning goal from Germany international Michael Ballack.

Frank Lampard gave Chelsea a first-half lead but an equaliser from Jason Roberts sent the game into extra-time, where Ballack pounced to settle an thrilling semi-final in the 108th minute.

Chelsea, who won the Carling Cup back in February, now remain on course for a possible meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson’s side in the final of the Champions League and their showdown at Stamford Bridge next month could well decide the outcome of the Barclays Premiership title.

Their victory over Mark Hughes’ stubborn Blackburn was achieved with all the grit and determination that has become the hallmark of Mourinho’s side this season.

While United have wowed the Barclays Premiership and the Champions League with some scintillating attacking football, Chelsea have kept pace with their rivals thanks to fighting spirit and tenacity.

Owner Roman Abramovich watched them secure a Wembley place from a lofty vantage point at Old Trafford - a seat not too far away from Mourinho’s managerial adversary on May 19.

Chelsea needed extra-time to beat Blackburn at Old Trafford and book their place in the FA Cup final, where they will play Manchester United.

Regulation time ended in a 1-1 stalemate after Jason Roberts had cancelled out Frank Lampard's opener before Michael Ballack netted the winner in the 109th minute.

The result means that Chelsea's dream of a quadruple is still very much on, while Blackburn were left to rue missing out of their first final since 1928.

Lampard opened the scoring for the prospective quadruple winners in the 16th minute, the England midfielder touching the ball past his marker Ryan Nelson to break free and fire the ball low into the far corner.


Ballack and Essien went close to nicking it for Chelsea in the second half of normal time, but there was to be no separating the two sides, and the game went into extra time.

Tired limbs took over in additional time and after the chance-ridden second half of normal time, goalscoring opportunities were relatively few and far between before Ballack popped up to rifle home Shaun Wright-Phillips' poorly dealt with cross after 109 minutes.

Chelsea steal it at the very death

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has hailed his side's 2-1 Champions League win over Valencia as their "best away performance in three seasons".
CL戦、2-1でヴァレンシアに勝利した後、モウリーニョ
「3シーズンの中で最高のアウェイゲームだった」と語った！

Mourinho's men recovered from a 1-0 half-time deficit in their quarter-final second leg to beat Valencia with goals from Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Essien, the latter's strike coming in the 90th minute.
前半1-0とリードを許していたチェルシーは、シェフチェンコ、エッシェンの
ゴールでヴァレンシアを下した。エッシェンのゴールは90分に決まった！

It's a great performance, especially in the second half. We were under pressure and losing 1-0. It's an unbelievable performance, I was preparing for extra time," said the Portuguese manager after the final whistle.
「素晴らしい試合だった。特に後半は。1-0でリードされている状況の中、

Chelsea 1-1 Valencia: Drogba rescues Blues
チェルシーを救ったドログバ

Didier Drogba's 30th goal of the season kept Chelsea's Champions League dream alive - but they will have to overcome a difficult return leg in Valencia if they are to reach the semi-finals after a 1-1 draw.

ピッチ上とは違う顔を窺い知ることができました。

Mourinho relaxed despite first-leg slip-up
ファーストレグはスベっちゃったけど、気楽に構えるモウリーニョ

Jose Mourinho had few complaints after watching Valencia hold Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night - and revealed he would take his children to watch the wrestling if his team crash out of the Champions League next week.
モウリーニョさん、ヴァレンシア戦後ほとんど不満を吐かず
来週、CL敗退となったら、子供達とレスリングを見に行くつもりだ、
と明かした、そうでございます。

The quarter-final is delicately poised heading into Tuesday's second leg at the Mestalla.
準々決勝の行方はMestallaで行われるセカンドレグにかかっています。

The Chelsea manager, however, remains ever positive.
しかしながら、モウリーニョさんは前向きで・・・

Mourinho said: 'I knew that the tie would still be open, with that kind of result, 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, so there was no reason to panic.
「引き分けでも、道はまだ望みはある、と思っていた。
0-1,1-1,2-1といった結果を考えていた。だから慌てることは全くないよ。」

'Maybe everybody is thinking they are one step ahead, and are all enjoying this result but, if I was in their place, I would be very cautious.
「誰もが、相手が一歩先んじたと考えているだろうね。
この結果を喜んでいる、と。でも、もし私が彼らの立場なら、
非常に慎重で用心深くなると思うよ。」
'If you have a good referee there, not influenced by the enthusiastic atmosphere of the Spanish, I do not see why we cannot get a result.

'It is 1-1. It is not 0-3.

Mourinho insisted: 'It is not my biggest challenge.

'If we win, we go to the semi-final, if we lose, I will go to Earls Court and watch the wrestling on the 24th.
「もし勝てば、チェルシーは準決勝に進み、もし負ければ
ボクは24日、アールコートへレスリングを見にいくよ。」
'So if I do not go to the semi-final, then I will go to the wrestling with my kids.'
「だから、準決勝に行けないなら、子供達とレスリングに行くってこと。」

Mourinho felt Chelsea had shown more willingness to secure victory on the night.
モウリーニョはこの夜、チェルシーは、勝利を確実にしようと
積極的に攻めた、としている。
He said: 'If one team was going to win the game, it should have been Chelsea because we attacked more, but the result was correct.
「試合を勝ちにいっていたのはチェルシーだ。より攻撃的だった。
しかし、結果は妥当なものだったね。」
'The game was not amazing, where both teams fought a lot, Chelsea trying to win and Valencia trying to draw.
「チェルシーは勝とうとし、ヴァレンシアは引き分けに持ち込もうと
戦った試合だった。素晴らしい試合だったわけじゃない。」
'They were a bit lucky with an amazing goal, because they did not create a lot, but it was a fantastic shot.
「ヴァレンシアはビックリするようなゴールが出て、ラッキーだったね。
彼らはシュートをあまり打たなかったけれど、あれは見事なシュートだった。」
'We hit the post at 0-0, and had more of the ball around the box, but at the end of the day we have to accept the result.'
