ずい分とサボってました。ええっと、12月4日に（古！）Munstersche Zeitungなるドイツの新聞に、バラック氏のインタヴューが掲載されたそうです。例によって、HansDさんの要約を載せておきます。

Latest interview of Michael with the german newspaper ‚Münstersche Zeitung’ from yesterday.I try to translate as well as possible and make a short summary.

Question:“The 1-2 defeat vs.Arsenal was Chelsea’s second defeat at home in this season---after 86 matches without a defeat.And Chelsea has won all away matches.Why is it so difficult to win at home?“
記者：アーセナル戦は1－2の敗戦でした。チェルシーにとって、ホームでの敗戦は、今シーズン2度目ですね。ホーム無敗86試合のチェルシーでしたが。そして、アウェイ試合は全勝していますね。ホームでの勝利は、なぜ、そう難しいのでしょう？

Ballack:“Sometimes there are such phases,that you are playing away better than at home.I can’t explain this to 100%.
バラック：ホームでの試合より、アウェイで良い試合が出来る、という時もありますよ。どう説明したらよいか、分かりませんが。

I think,we are playing the away matches more relaxed and we are enjoying them.We have scored away 5 goals and 3 goals.This shows everybody that we are not content with a 1-0.We want to score the second and third goal.People want to see that.
おそらく、アウェイの試合の方が、リラックスできて、試合を楽しめているのかもしれませんね。アウェイで5点、3点とゴールを決めています。このことは、僕達が、1－0の試合に満足出来ていない、という意味なのでは。僕達は2点目、3点目が欲しいのです。ファンの皆さんもそうでしょう。

I don’t believe that ‚Stamford Bridge’ has lost its image of a ‚fortress’.We only have lost two matches.Surely,that’s not good.Nearly for 5 years,we had a ‚fortress’.But we knew,that we will loose again a home match at any time.“
スタンフォード・ブリッジが『不落の要塞』というイメージを失った、とは思いません。たった2試合を失っただけです。もちろん良いことじゃないですが。5年近くも負け知らずの『要塞』だった訳ですから。でも分かっていました。いつかはまた、ホームで敗戦を喫すると。

Question:“You have some problems in the UEFA C.L.after the defeat in Rome and the draw in Bordeaux.Are you afraid of a failure in the group phase?“
記者：チェルシーは、チャンピオンズ・リーグのローマ戦敗戦と、ボルドー戦引き分けて、ちょっとした苦境に立たされていますね。グループ・ステージで敗退、などということは、ないでしょうか？

Ballack:“We don’t think about that.We have the last match at home vs.Cluj and we need a win,clearly,no doubt.We have to make it clear now in the last match.It wasn’t our aim.We have everything in our own hand and if we will become 2nd in the group,okay.“
バラック：そんなことは考えていません。ホームでのクールージュ戦が待っています。もちろん勝利する以外ありません。全ての行方は、僕達の手中にあります。たとえグループ2位通過でもOKです。

Question:“Why Chelsea hasn’t shown the expected performances in the C.L.?“
記者：チェルシーは、なぜ期待された成績を出せなかったのでしょう？

Ballack:“Everybody at Chelsea is concentrating on the E.P.L.We want to bring this title back to Stamford Bridge.Perhaps this is the reason for the performances in the C.L.“
バラック：チェルシーの選手達全員が、プレミア・リーグに気持ちが集中しています。プレミアのタイトルを取り戻したい、と。その結果がチャンピオンズ・リーグの成績に反映されているのだと思いますよ。

Question:“Your contract is ending to the end of the season.Do you want to stay at Chelsea?“
記者：あなたの契約は、今シーズン末で終了しますが、チェルシー残留を希望しますか？

Ballack:“I can imagine to finish my career at Chelsea.We want to win a big title.
バラック：チェルシーでキャリアを終えることを思い描いています。ですから、大きなタイトルを手に入れたい。

Last season we had bad luck in the C.L.final.These are days,you can write history and we want to reach that with Chelsea.I love Chelsea and I’m feeling very well here.As a player you need such a good feeling.Therefore there’s no reason to change the club.
昨シーズンは、チャンピオンズ・リーグ決勝戦で、不運に見舞われました。チェルシーで、優勝を達成して、歴史の記録を刻みたいと思います。チェルシーというチームが大好きですし、調子も上々です。プレーヤーとして、こういう気分の良さが必要でしょう。ですから、クラブを替える理由は、一つもありません。

I’m not 25 years old and I don’t think about a change.I’m playing for one of the greatest clubs in the world.And we can become still better and improve.I think I can play a few years more longer.I have a lot of experience and I’m in a good shape.“
もう25歳のプレーヤーではありません。現在、世界最高のクラブのひとつでプレーいる訳ですから、変化は考えていません。チェルシーはもっと良くなれます。
自分としては、もう数年プレー出来る、と考えています。経験十分ですし、体調もとても良いですよ。

Question:“How good is your relationship to the Chelsea fans?“
記者：チェルシーファンとの関係は、上手くいっていますか？

Ballack:“It’s always good,when you are looking back to your former clubs:Kaiserslautern,Leverkuse n,FC Bayern---and the fans are missing you.
バラック：：以前の所属クラブ－－カイザースラウテルン、レバークーゼン、バイエルン－－を思い返してみると、いつでも良好でした。彼らファンは、いなくなって残念がってくれています。

In any time,when I have finished my career,and I look back in 10 years.it would be fantastic,when the Chelsea fans would remember me.
いつか現役引退して、10年経ってから思い返した時、チェルシーファンがボクを思い出してくれたら、素晴らしいでしょうね。

When I came to Chelsea,it wasn’t easy for me.Last year I was injured for a long time.But when I’m standing on the field,I notice the support of the fans and of everybody in this club.That’s very important for every player.“
チェルシー入団当時は、結構大変でした。去年は長期怪我離脱がありました。でも、フィールドに立つと、ファンやクラブの皆が、支持してくれているのが分かります。どんなプレーヤーにとっても、ファンの支えはすごく大切です。

Question:“You were missing the match vs.England.Why?“
記者：あなたはイングランドとの親善試合に出ませんでしたね。どうしてですか？

Ballack:“One week before the match I talked to Jogi Löw.This match didn’t make any sense concerning my fitness level and my shape.My foot injury was over,but I didn’t play any match for chelsea over 90 minutes.This match came too early for me.“
バラック：この試合の1週間前に、レーヴ監督と話をしました。僕の健康状態、体調を考えると、出場の意味がありませんでした。足の怪我は治っていましたが、プレミアリーグの試合で、フル出場していませんでしたから。親善試合は、時期尚早だったのです。

Question:“England has won in Berlin.Has this team improved under the new coach Capello?“
記者：イングランドはベルリンで勝利を飾りました。イングランド代表チームは、カペッロ監督のもと、良いチームになりましたか？

Ballack:“He is a top coach.One could see his influence during the last matches of England.If they will qualify for w.c.2010,then the aim must be :the final.
バラック：カペッロは最高レベルの監督です。イングランドの最新試合を見ると、彼の影響を見て取れます。2010年のワールド・カップ出場を勝ち取ったら、その目標とするところは、当然『決勝戦』でしょう。

They have 5 players of ManU,5 players of Chelsea and Liverpool.These teams are playing on a very high level.Every year they are playing in the C.L.semifinals and final.That’s a big advantage.They have experience and world class and they have to show and prove that in their national team.“
マンチェスター・Uの選手が5人、チェルシーとリヴァプールの選手が5人。これらのチームは非常に高いレベルのプレーをします。毎年チャンピオンズ・リーグで、準決勝か決勝に進出を果たしていますしね。
これは大きな強みですよ。経験豊富なワールドクラスの選手揃いです。彼らは代表チームで、実力発揮し、力を証明するはずです。

Question:“What do you want to achieve with the german national team?“
記者：あなたはドイツ代表チームで、何を達成したいと考えていますか？

Ballack:“Unfortunately I can still play only a few tournaments:One or two ,may be.Next w.c. is a big aim.
バラック：残念ですが、自分はあと、１～２の大きな選手権大会でプレーできるだけだ、と思います。次の大きな目標はワールド・カップです。

We are always one of the favorite teams.We have no reason to talk us ourselves too small.But there are many strong teams,like in the UEFA C.L.There is n’t only one favorite team,but 6 or 7.And you need good luck.“
ドイツ代表はたいてい優勝候補に挙げられています。自分達を過小評価する必要はありません。でも他に多くの強豪チームがありますからね。チャンピオンズ・リーグでもそうだったように、優勝候補に挙げられるチームは、たった一つではありません。６～７チームはありますよね。優勝するには、運も必要です。

Question:“Are you proud to play for the national team?“
記者：代表チームでプレーすることは、あなたにとって誇りでしょうか？

Ballack:“Now I’m german captain for 4 years now.And I’m very proud to go as first player on the field.To be captain is very important and a great moment for me.
バラック：キャプテンを務めて四年になります。そして、先頭に立ってフィールドへ入っていくことは、大きな誇りです。キャプテンの座にあることは、僕にとってとても意味あることであり、大切な時間です。

I will look back to this when I have finished my career.Since my first international match at the age of 21 my importance for the team has grown.I had fantastic moments like the world cups 2002 and 2006.And UEFA Euro 2008,too.Even,when we didn’t win the title.These were great experiences with the team.“
選手生活にピリオドを打った後、キャプテンだったことを思い出すでしょう。21歳で初めて国際試合に出場して以来、自分のチーム内での存在は、大きくなってきました。2002年、2006年のワールド・カップや、2008年のユーロでの、素晴らしい瞬間を味わえました。優勝こそ出来ませんでしたが、チームで作った、大きな経験です。

引退後は、こう思うだろう、とかが多すぎじゃない？あまり思い出話ばかりして、懐かしがっていないでほしいよ。

World AIDS Day

チェルシーはホームで今期2敗目を喫しちゃいました。で、現在リーグ2位。

チェルシー公式で、バラックとアデバイヨールが、エイズ撲滅キャンペーンの国連大使として、チームを組んだ、というニュースが載っていました。

United Nations Ambassador and Chelsea midfield maestro Michael Ballack has teamed up with Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor to fight AIDS.
エイズ撲滅キャンペーンのため、国連大使のバラックは、アーセナルのアデバイヨールとチームを組んだ。

It is World AIDS Day today (Monday, December 1) and the pair combined at Stamford Bridge recently to raise the profile of the campaign.
今日、12月1日は世界エイズデイ。二人はスタンフォード・ブリッジで、キャンペーンの注目度を上げるためタグを組んだ。

Ballack has worked with the UNAIDS campaign in his role as Goodwill Ambassador since 2006 to raise awareness on HIV prevention.
バラックは、エイズ予防の意識を高めるための、国連エイズ撲滅キャンペーンの親善大使を2006年から務めている。

'I have been the ambassador for them for nearly two years now, they asked me and it has been a pleasure to work with them. It is a big honour and it is always good to do something in this kind of problem which everybody is involved in, and to make a statement and show that in my position as a famous soccer player I can help to make people understand more and think about this problem every day,' Ballack said.

'AIDS is still around and I think that we should all work together to help others. I am proud to a part of this campaign and happy that such a star like Emmanuel wants to help, as he is a big star in Africa', added the 32-year-old. 'The World Cup in 210 is in South Africa and it is a big thing, not just for young people but everybody.'
『エイズの危険は、今でも私達の周囲にあります。他の人たちを助けるために、私達は皆、協力しなければなりません。このキャンペーンの一翼を担えて、誇りに思います。エマニュエル・アデバイヨールのようなスター選手がこのキャンペーンに加わって、嬉しいです。彼はアフリカ大陸のビッグスターですから。』
バラックは、2010年ワールドカップが南アフリカで開催されることは、若者にとってのみならず、全ての人々にとって大きな意味がある、と付け加えた。

It is not the first time Ballack has been involved in advertising work, and he can be currently seen on 'Target Practice' in an adidas commercial. There have also been adverts for Samsung and others back home in Germany.
広告に関わるのは、バラックにとって初めてのことではない。現在『Target Practice』というアディダスのコマーシャルに出ている。サムスンや、その他ドイツでコマーシャルに出演した経験がある。

'Over the last few years I am used to it because in Germany there are a lot of commercials, so for five or six years it is something I have done. I dressed up as a mountaineer once with the national team,' he smiled. 'It was fun. It's all good fun, and in this case it is for a good cause.'
『ここ数年、ドイツで沢山コマーシャル出演したので、慣れています。現在まで、そう5～6年の間ですが、結構いろいろやりました。代表チームの面々と、登山家に扮装したこともありましたよ。楽しい経験でした。愉快でしたね。そして今回の場合は、立派な目標を掲げたキャンペーンです。』

According to latest UNAIDS figures, there are an estimated 33 million people living with HIV in 2008 and 2.7 million new HIV infections. Sport plays an important role in empowering young people and is a key arena for raising awareness on AIDS.
UNAIDSの最新データによると、2008年現在、推定3,300万人のエイズウィルス感染者おり、そのうち270万人が新たな感染症患者だそうだ。スポーツは、若者達に力を与える大切な役割を担い、またエイズに対する認識を高める重要な場でもある。
