ランパードは28日からトレーニングに参加しているそうですね。リヴァプール戦には出られるらしい。チームのメンバーは、どうやって彼を迎え入れたのかな。その様子を見てみたい。不謹慎なことを承知で言えば、パットさんが亡くなられたことで、タイトル制覇へ向けてチームの結束がものすごく強まっていると思われる。押せ押せムードのハイな状態といいますか。2冠達成、多いに期待！！

BALLACK: ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
どんなことだって、起こりうる

Michael Ballack believes all pressure is now on Manchester United after Saturday's 2-1 win put us on level points with the league rivals.
バラックは、2－1でマン・Uを下し、勝ち点で並んだ今は、全てのプレッシャーはマン・U側にかかってくる、と考えている。

The German midfielder can relate to losing a title on the last day of the season after his side Bayer Leverkusen lost out to Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich and feels this could now be the fate bestowed upon Manchester United.

'Last week they had a five-point lead and now we have closed the gap. They still have everything in their hands but the pressure is on them,' said Ballack.

It was a Michael Carrick handball that gave Ballack the opportunity to take the lead back for the Blues with a penalty in the 86th minute, but, despite all eyes in Stamford Bridge bearing down on the number 13, he was unaffected by the pressure.

With all this talk of pressure, anticipation begins to build as the midfielder looks ahead to Wednesday's Champions League clash against Liverpool.

'A win gives us confidence, we have it and we have shown that we can play very well but on Wednesday it is a very different game, it is the Champions League.

Cometh the hour, cometh the iceman. With typical German cool, Chelsea match winner Michael Ballack claimed to have enjoyed the pressure of taking the late penalty which gave his side victory over Manchester United and kept alive the title race.
アイスマンの時が訪れた。アイスマンがやって来た。（icemanには、とても冷静な人、殺し屋、という意味あり）
ドイツ人特有の冷静さを発揮したバラック。マン・Uに勝利し、タイトルレースに踏みとどまるための、試合終盤のPKの際にも、そのプレッシャーを楽しめた、と語った。

With just seven minutes left and United level thanks to Wayne Rooney's equaliser, referee Alan Wiley gave a penalty for Michael Carrick's hand-ball on the advice of his assistant, Glen Turner.
ルーニーのゴールで同点となったまま、残り7分となった時、アシスタントレフェリーがキャリックのハンドを指摘。ペナルティ・キックが与えられた。


That left United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and his players furious, and Ballack with a two-minute wait before he could step up to the spot, taking over the penalty duties from Frank Lampard, who was not playing after the death of his mother.

Ballack had rowed with team-mate Didier Drogba over who should take a second-half free-kick, but he played down any suggestions of a rift, insisting the whole team were simply fired up for victory.

Jose Mourinho insists he has not signed a pre-contract with Internazionale and admits his next job could be back in the Premier League.
モウリーニョは、インテルと事前契約にも至っていないことを強調、次の就任先の選択肢の中に、プレミア・リーグも入っていることを認めた。

The Portuguese has been out of management since leaving Chelsea last September and has been strongly tipped to replace Roberto Mancini at Inter.
昨年9月にチェルシーを去って以来、監督業からは離れていたモウリーニョだが、マンチーニに代って、インテルを率いる方向へ傾いていた。
The Italian champions have denied the rumours and Mourinho has also confirmed that he currently has nothing in place for next season.

The former Porto boss also confirmed there was no clause upon his departure from Stamford Bridge that would prevent him joining another Premier League club this summer.

Spiegel Interview (3)

歓喜と興奮から一夜明けました。チェルシーの面々は、いい夢を見ることが出来たでしょうか。
チェルシー公式サイトに、グラント監督の試合後のコメントが載っています。一部転載しておきます。

One talking point from the game was Ballack's dispute with Didier Drogba over who would take a free-kick, while the scores were locked at 1-1. Rather than being upset with his feuding stars, Grant was impressed with their desire.
1－1で拮抗した試合の中で、誰がフリーキックを蹴るか、でバラックとドログバが口論となったことを、グラントは好意的に見ている。

'I am very proud of my players - they are very competitive and wanted to win. It was 1-1 and you know when you conceded a goal like we did it was disappointing but they were full of energy, and it came from this they wanted to win the game.

There have been few truer words spoken, and this was evident at Stamford Bridge today, with our players wearing black armbands in respect to Pat Lampard, Frank's mother who sadly passed away this week.

The midfielder has been granted compassionate leave, and Grant reiterated that he will not be rushed back.

SPIEGEL: When you were out of commission because of your injury, some people in Germany were under the impression that Chelsea wanted to sell you.
怪我で戦線離脱中、チェルシーはあなたを売りたいようだ、という声がドイツ国内にはありましたが。
Ballack: That impression was wrong. At first I even had to defend myself against accusations that the ankle operation was unnecessary and that I had it done in Germany without permission. It was a difficult time, during which Chelsea lost two titles.
When you're injured you live on the sidelines. You don't train, travel or play with the team. The longer it lasts, the more difficult it is to remain accepted.

Ballack: After three or four months, you ask yourself: Why do I still have pain? You get up every morning and hope that things will improve, at least a little.
They try out all kinds of treatment methods and some of them are dead ends. Then you have to go back and start all over again.
3～4ヶ月すると、自分にこう尋ねるのです：どうして、まだ痛みが引かないのだろう？毎朝起きる度に、少しずつ回復していることを期待しました。

SPIEGEL: When you were 16 and had a knee operation, a doctor told you that you wouldn't be playing competitive sports anymore. Did you think back to those days?

Ballack: Of course. It could've been over back then. If my career had ended this time, however, I wouldn't have been crushed. I would have just accepted it. I've spent 13 years playing as a professional, and I've made sure that my future is secure. Football is a contact sport, and it has its occupational risks.

SPIEGEL: Just like last year, three English teams are in the semifinals in the Champions League. Does England rule the football world, or does the football world rule England?

Ballack: Up to a point, it's possible to shape teams and get them to perform optimally by taking a methodical approach and working systematically. But to play at the very top, you need top players, and they cost money.

84分相手選手がハンドを犯して、ペナルティーキックをもらった。蹴るのはバラック。先程蹴り手をめぐって、言い争いになったドログバも、応援の声かけ。キーパーと真逆に蹴り入れて2点目！失点につながるミスをしたカルバーリョが、抱きついた～。蹴る前の、冷静で決然とした表情が、ステキ。どうして、こうも大切な試合となると、目立ってしまうのでしょう。
シェフチェンコも最後の10分ほどプレーして、相手のシュートを危ういところで止めていたし。終了後、ドログバともニコヤカにハグし合っていた。
見所満載の試合、生で見ることが出来てよかった。今夜は良い夢が見られそうです。

いよいよマン・Uとの決戦が近づいてきてます。ジェイコムTVが生放送だそうで、久しぶりにドキドキしながら応援するかな。
マン・U戦は、グラント監督就任以来、50試合目に当たるらしい。

For the moment the Chelsea boss has no injury concerns. 'At Chelsea you never know, maybe someone in the canteen will get injured,' he joked.
怪我人の心配は、今のところ全く無く、監督が『チェルシーだからねえ、それは分からないよ。だれかが食堂で怪我するかもしれないし。』などと冗談を言っているくらい。

Frank Lampard, currently on compassionate leave after the death of his mother, is the only player not to have trained on Friday.

とコメントしていますが、本当にその通りだと思います。ランパードはこの時、母親パッドさんの病状もあり、辛い1週間だった、と語っていましたけど、ついにそのお母さん、亡くなられたのですね。シーズン最終局面のこの時期に、プロ選手って辛い。でも逆にお母さんの力を借りて、悲しみを爆破エネルギーに変えて、マン・U戦、リヴァプール戦ホームゲームで暴れてほしいです。

There is a constant pushing, even when you're ahead, otherwise you hear and feel this grumbling in the stadium. And when you have the ball, they're more aggressive in England, but of course you also have to be more aggressive yourself. Our game wasn't really that focused on me at first. There were other dominant players.

Ballack: No, it's exactly what I wanted. If you do a 5,000-meter run, you're a lot slower by yourself than running in a group. Because you get pulled along during the tough parts. And because you have to keep up with everyone else.
You only develop if you have good players next to you and when every game is a challenge.
When I was with Bayern Munich, I won the Double three times in four years, and then we were often eliminated early on in the Champions League. I wasn't excited anymore about winning the German championship yet again. I was looking for a new challenge.

新幹線が、不審者飛び降りなどという出来事のため、止まってしまい、足止めを食ってしまった亭主殿からの連絡を待って、夜更かししております。
バラックのその後の情報、明朝のリヴァプール戦に出場出来るのか、気になってサイト巡ってました。するとGetty Imagesにトレーニング参加している様子が載っているではありませんか。ということは、出番あるかもしれない！Yahoo Sportsの先発予想にも名前が載っているし。う～む、これは眠れない。何か起きそう。

公式サイトのフォーラムからの情報ですけど、ドイツの新聞のインタヴューに答えた、という記事が載っているそうです。以前にも言っていましたけど、『ユーロ08まで、ではなくワールド・カップ2010まで代表を続けることが自分の目標であって、その年までチェルシーでプレーしたい。クラブを変えるつもりはない。』と繰り返したらしい。

CL準決勝相手はリヴァプール

イスタンブールでフェネル戦を２－１で終えた後、『集中力が足りなかった。90分集中しなければ』と言っていたバラック。ホームでの試合前にも、絶対に勝つ、ウチは強いんだ、と活を入れてたバラック。開始後わずか３分で、自らヘッドをきめたんですね。大切な試合に強いですね～。そういう運を背負ってる人なんですね～。ランパードの追加点が87分に入って、２－０で終了。よかった、よかった。

Trailing 2-1 from the first-leg, Avram's Grant's side started with real purpose and took just three minutes to level the tie on aggregate, when Ballack rose to head home Joe Cole's right-wing cross.

Despite concerted pressure, and a host of opportunities to increase their lead, the home side were force to endure some nervous moments before Lampard smashed home in the 87th minute.

Grant made just one change from the side beaten 2-1 in Turkey, replacing Florent Malouda with Salomon Kalou.

The Blues had been coasting in the first leg of their quarter-final clash against the Turkish outfit, before slipping to defeat.
敗戦に転じるまでは、楽勝ムードだったチェルシー。

Deivid's early on goal put Chelsea in front, but second half efforts from Colin Kazim-Richards and a wonder goal by Deivid capped a remarkable turnaround.
後半Colin Kazim-Richardsのゴール、そしてDeividの飛びっ切りなゴールで、ひっくり返されてしまう。
