Dear Guests,

Japanese Traditional Kokeshi-Dolls, antique and/or vintage ones, are available to purchase in the shopping-corner at lobby of our hotel JUKEI-So!
Various dolls came from different prefectures, which are in the northern part of Japan; Aomori, Akita, Yamagata, Iwate, Miyagi and so on. For about 150-years ago, at almost the end of Edo-era, traditional Kokeshi-Dolls were born as for the purpose of little children’s toy, and started to sell at hot-spring resorts’ area. Many guests who enjoyed holidays at hot-spring-resorts in north district of Japan, willingly decided to buy such Kokeshi-dolls for souvenirs. According to the history-length, the purposes of gifts were changed from not only for children’s toy but also to lucky ornaments, wishing happiness from travelers to family-members, lovers and friends. The Kokeshi-dolls are continued to produce by Kou-Jin: professional Artists.
