In its most recent report on human trafficking, the U.S. State Department warned that "sophisticated and organized prostitution networks target vulnerable Japanese women and girls."
It is serious issue just as in U.S.
The center estimates that between between 100,000 and 250,000 children, or more, are sexually trafficked each year in the United States. More than half are homeless, either runaways or children thrown out of the house by their guardians.
Most are just 11 to 14 years old when first sold, say experts, and girls of color are disproportionately affected. Some 60 percent of those arrested were black.
An abiding sense of shame and victim-blaming within Japanese culture prevents many girls from coming forward, says Shihoko Fujiwara, director of the

Child pornography
Japan has long had an uneasy relationship with the sexualization of children. It was only in June 2014 that the government finally outlawed the ownership of child pornography.

CNN found videos on sale in Tokyo adult stores whose covers depicted schoolgirls in uniform, smiling for the camera. Some videos even purported to feature elementary school aged children.
There might be such videos if you try hard to find them just as you will find such clips in United States if you try hard.
In October, organizations and activists fighting child pornography called on the government to do more to protect young victims and crack down on the producers and consumers of child porn
Protecting people-young or old-- from rape and murder is one thing; protecting the right to expression in which people are raped and murdered is another.
Note that Japan's rate of rape and other sexual assault is lower despite pornographic manga & anime
