鹿嶋市内の海岸に打ちあげられたカズハゴンドウ
茨城県鹿嶋市の下津（おりつ）海水浴場に４日午後８時ごろ、イルカの仲間、カズハゴンドウが大量に打ち上げられているのに地元の人が気づき、市役所と警察に連絡した。５日午前８時から、同市が茨城県大洗水族館などの協力を得て、延命などにかかっている。

同日午前７時ごろから、海岸を訪れたサーファーや地元の人たちが毛布や新聞、衣類などを持ち寄り、カズハゴンドウの体をおおって、海水をかけるなどしている。男性サーファーの一人は「驚いた。サーフィンどころじゃなくてみんなで手分けして水をかけている。何とか助かってほしい」と話した。

茨城県鹿嶋市の下津（おりつ）海水浴場にイルカの仲間「カズハゴンドウ」５２頭が打ち上げられた件で、生き残った２２頭は５日夕方までに市などによって海に帰された。死んだ３０頭は砂浜に埋められた。
現在、鯨肉、イルカ肉を食べる日本人というのは少ない。
生き物を殺すのを何ともおもっていないわけでもない。
保護したいというならそれも実現可能だろうが、しかし、反捕鯨イルカ団体のやり方がひどかった。子供の連れ去り問題でも、そうだが、これも日本人の団体と相談しながら、日本人が受け容れられるようなやり方をやればもっとうまくいったであろうに、頭ごなしにやるからかえって反発される。大げさな言い方になるかもしれないが、欧米の帝国主義的なやり方は中東でも東アジアでも反発されるだけだ、というのは覚えておいてもらいたい。

With Saudi Arabia offering high pay, and S.Korea and China offering paid airfare, completion bonus and free accomodation,and even a local vote in S. Korea’s case, why indeed come and live in Japan?
If the reason is an interest in traditional Japanese culture then this is sometimes seen as “odd” by not a few Japanese who themselves cannot explain to the earnest foreigner what “wabi” “sabi” and so on, mean. Then they get back to swilling down a Starbucks and listening to J pop, thinking “henna gaijin”.

Muslims in southern California claimed they have been unfairly targeted because of their religion. Now they are taking on the FBI with a new lawsuit, which they hope exposes violations of the US Constitution.
As American Muslims prepare for prayers, a fear remains that the worshiper next to them may be a spy.This is especially true in Southern California, where paid FBI informants have fractured the cohesiveness of a law abiding community.
“I’m fearful of retaliation of the FBI,” said Ali Malik, who was targeted by an FBI informant. “My wife fears it, my family fears it and I fear that the FBI is going to come down very aggressively on us.”
After Malik found out he was being spied on, he felt betrayed by his country and now he feels alienated because fellow Muslims are suspicious that he might now be a spy. The southern California native was approached by FBI informant Craig Monteilh, presumably because of his devout Muslim faith

Libya, for one, has used London’s PR machine before – with misleading results.
“In 1995, a UK based PR agency was paid four million pounds to try and subvert the evidence that pointed towards Libyan involvement in the Lockerbie case,” remembers Annie Machon. “And this is what has led to alternative theories about Lockerbie, although the evidence did point to the fact that Al Maghrahi and Laman Khalifa Fhimah were actually responsible. So Libya knows how to play by these rules, they know how to play the game.”

In the US, the first amendment finds its base in an underlying social confidence that extremist speech is best challenged by a society that resides upon free, accessible and open discourse. As Thomas Jefferson explained, "error of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it." In Europe, however, too many states seem to believe that their societies too weak to reject extremist speech. They are wrong. The excessive limitation of speech is not only wrong per se; in terms of pursuing civil society, it is also its own worse enemy.
