Chunxiao lies just to the Chinese side of what Japan claims as the line, halfway between the two countries, dividing their exclusive economic zones in the East China Sea. Japan’s fear is that gas extraction in Chunxiao could siphon off gas from Japan’s side of the field. The agreement reached in June 2008 was supposed to allow joint exploitation of the field. But last year Japan noticed activity suggesting that China was moving in drilling equipment and preparing to go ahead on its own. China said it was just conducting maintenance. Japan had expected a detailed agreement on how it might take part to be reached soon after the 2008 accord. China has stonewalled. Only after heated debate did Mr Yang tell Mr Okada that he still “cherished” the pact.

In testimony to Congress on January 13th the American armed forces’ Pacific commander, Admiral Robert Willard, said the Chinese navy had increased its patrols in the South China Sea and had “shown an increased willingness to confront regional nations on the high seas and within the contested island chains.” China bristles at any suggestion that it can be a prickly neighbour.

　中国のガス田についてである。日本との関係のみならず、ベトナムなどの近隣諸国との関係でも攻撃的になっていることについて警戒している。

　メディアも小沢問題ばかりではなく、ガス田問題に関する、岡田氏の措置について、もう少し報道してほしい。

　また、民主党も小沢氏擁護ばかりにまわっていると、

「民主に期待」５５％に下落…

　という具合に、支持は下がる一方になってしまうよ。

Amsterdam seeks stricter brothel rules
Amsterdam authorities have proposed raising the legal age for women working in brothels in the city's Red Light District from 18 to 23 as part of a series of new measures designed to tackle forced prostitution.

Lodwijk Asscher, the deputy mayor, said prostitution should be banned between the hours of 4am and 8am in an effort to fight crime in the district, a famous destination for British stag parties.
"Only the biggest creeps and boozers are walking around at those hours," he said on Dutch radio. "Women really dread working then and sometimes the most vulnerable are used."

According to Mr Asscher, young prostitutes working in the area are more vulnerable than their older colleagues to "brutal" sex trade gangs.
"For instance, a young Bulgarian girl of 18, far from home, brought here under false pretences, beaten up and forced into prostitution, will be less likely to seek help from the authorities than a woman of 23 or older" he said.

オランダでは売春は合法なのだが、暴力団などに強制されて売春を強要されることが多く、特に、若い娘が犠牲になりやすいので、合法年齢を上げる、という。
　イギリス人のイギリス人男性客の目的地にもなっている、という。

Kyong Cha Roberts, 57, of Boise, was arrested at 174 N. Orchard Street -- Apple Spa. She is charged with prostitution and massage license required.
Kyo Chin Oh, 50, of Boise, was arrested at 6004 W. Overland Road -- J Spa. She is charged with prostitution and a sanitary requirements violation.
Fenghua Sanford, 48, of Garden City, was arrested at 6316 W. Overland Road -- Aloha Spa. She is charged with prostitution and massage license required.

White, working-class pupils have serious problems in terms of underachievement, but black pupils remain three times more likely to be excluded than white, he says, and face stiffer sanctions. These cases bring him 90% of his workload: 60 referrals a month, through word of mouth.

Former Codes inspector and Municipal Officer Gary Dooley, who is black, filed a complaint with the city claiming that shortly after he was hired, Haley and some fellow co-workers often called him the N-word. Dooley said that at a Christmas party, Haley told him, "You N-Words steal anything you can get your hands on."

Whites-Only Basketball League Formed; ´People of Color´ Need Not Apply

The All-American Basketball Alliance hopes to start up in June in 12 cities throughout the U.S. Southeast. According to a press release from the AABA, only players born in the United States of two Caucasian parents are eligible to play.

AABA commissioner Don "Moose" Lewis said the rule isn´t based on hate, but that "white, American-born citizens are in the minority now," and the league lets them play "fundamental basketball" instead of "street-ball" played by "people of color."

Pointing out incidents in the NBA, Lewis asked, "would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?" The AABA seems to be having trouble getting cities to join up.

The leaflets read: ''600,000 immigrants arrived in the last 4 years. That's more than Tasmania. More than Aborigines. More than Newcastle. More than we need.''

In short Weeaboo(or Wapanese) is someone who has an obsession with Japanese cartoons and Japanese culture; yet takes it a step beyond. A Weeaboo thinks that Japan is better than any other nation on the planet. They hate their own culture and attempt to act as if they are Japanese; failing in this effort of course.

日本文化や日本アニメにいかれている人達、および、自分たちの文化が大嫌いで、日本人のようにふるまう人達らしい。

　日本人を黒人や白人に置き換えて、wiggerやWhitey　という言葉もあるらしい。

there is a fairly vocal minority of people who will justify and validate anything that occurs in Japan. These people are not only apologists, but attack everything about their own culture and portray it as inferior to that in Japan.

　日本でおきることはなんでも正当化して、自分たちの文化が劣等だと思っている人達がいる、と。

というより、ある人々が日本・日本人を誤解して批判した場合、その批判を批判した人に対して正当な議論で言い返せない場面はみたことがあるから、そうした人々が、ワパニーズ、Weeaboo（ーーーどういう発音なんだろうか？ーーー）と悪口のつもりで言い返している、というのが、実情ではないだろうか？

　ある小説のブックカバー。内容は色黒の少女がヒロインなのに、ブックカバーは色白の少女を使っている、ということで、論争が起きている。アメリカ。歯並びに肌の色にはかなりうるさい。色白、色黒、と書いたけど、要するに、白人、非白人という人種問題に発展するわけだね。

　てか、こうしたことで、マジで怒っている。管理者も説明する能力も知識もないのか、わざとなのか、こうして、外人の日本に対する怒りを煽っている。

中国で「アバター」上映縮小、「孔子」に切り替え・・・・


「アバター」は鉱物資源獲得を狙う地球人の侵略に異星人が抵抗するという物語。「中国各地で頻発する住宅地の強制収用を連想させ、反発をあおるのではないか、と当局が懸念している」という指摘も出ている。

　アバターは白人救済者伝説の蒸し返し、という評論もあったが、読者によってはこのように読み替える人々もいる、ということで、おもしろい、と思った。

「言葉遣いから外国人グループの可能性が高い」、「外国人風」というところが、問題にされているようだ。

　おもしろいことに、産経や読売には、この記述がなく、また、同じANNの他のニュースでもこの記述はない。

　それはそうとして、地元民が容疑者を特定するのに役立つ記述、ということで、特に問題はないのではないか、と思う。

英語圏で最近のニュースから 容疑者について、拾うと、

Suspect 1: black female, 22-27 years old, 5'5", med. build, short Afro dyed red in front

Suspect 2: black male, 45-50 years old, 5'11", med. build, white hat, eye glasses, gray beard

Suspect 3: black male, 27-33 years old, 6'2", med. build, bald, well dressed.

Suspect 4: black female, 37-44 years old, 5'11", heavy build, long black hair, well dressed.

The woman who lured the victim and is featured in the composite sketch was described as a Latino woman in her early 30s, about 5 feet tall, 130-135 pounds, with short brown curly hair and dark eyes, officials said. She wore a purple or violet winter jacket.

Another woman, described as Latino and in her 30s with long, dark hair and a skinny face, police said. She wore a knitted hat.

Around 12:30 Wednesday, a white man with a scruffy gray beard robbed the 1st Source Bank on W. Lexington Ave. Police haven't said if he had a gun but he was driving a dark colored passenger car.

スケートクラブで指導していた当時１３歳の女子生徒に性的暴行を加えてけがを負わせたとして、強姦（ごうかん）致傷の罪に問われた元フィギュアスケートコーチの酒井康資（やすじ）被告（５８）の判決公判が２１日、名古屋地裁であった。佐々木一夫裁判長は懲役７年（求刑懲役８年）を言い渡した。

　援助交際などが、問題になるが、これまた、問題の質がかわってくる。前者は判断能力の乏しいとみられる未成年者に対する犯罪であるが、後者は、未成年者の意思に反する卑劣な行為である。

・・・・というように、これはわりに先進国では、共通の傾向なのですが、日本だと、多くの日本関連海外特派員は馬鹿ですから、日本人特異論と絡めて、結婚は両性の同意に基づくはずなのに、日本人女性は結婚を選択しなくなってきた、などといわれる。

"The fertility of the western world is declining," says Laurence Shaw, who is a consultant in reproductive medicine and associate director at the London Bridge Fertility Centre.

Mr Shaw believe s increased maternal age is the p r i m a r y factor in why women are having fewer babies.


So if a woman tries for a first child at say, 30, she may find it harder to conceive than at 20. And harder, potentially, to have as many babies as she would like before egg quality and ovarian reserve (the capacity of the ovary to provide eggs likely to fertilise) decline with age - a process that starts at roughly 35.

Mr Shaw says: "Pregnancy rates are falling in teenagers - our most fertile time - due to education. In our 20s and lower 30s the pregnancy rate is about static, age 30 to 35 it is on the rise, and for 35 to 40 it's really increasing.

　晩婚だと生物的に妊娠の確立が低いですから、晩婚化の傾向になれば、出生率も低く、また、妊娠の確率が高い十代では、学校教育期間中ですから、これまた、出生率は低くなる、という説明をする人もいます。

　
　まあ、なんていうか、男女とも、多様なライフスタイルが可能になって結婚に執着しなくなってきていますが、他方、経済的な理由から結婚しない、できない若者もいるわけで、その意味では、やはり、経済援助、とくに、女性などが、働きながら子育てできる体制の確立が緊急の課題である、といえましょう。
