です。この曲は映画『Working Girl』の主題歌としてヒットしました。この映画自体は大学のListening Comprehensionの授業で見ました。学歴がない主人公が成り上がっていくサクセスストーリーで、メラニーグリフィス、ハリソンフォードとかシガニーウィーバーとかが出てます。

コレは高校英語で習う範疇ですね。「使役動詞」と呼ばれるものです。『～させる』っていうヤツね。
同類にはmake、get、haveなどもありますが、それぞれに使われる場面が違うので注意ですよ。"let the river run"はいえるけど、"make the river run"はいえません。"let it be"はいえるけど、"get it be"とはいえないのね。

で、この曲を日本語でカバーして主題歌にしていたのが、『HOTEL』です。高島弟が出てるヤツね。「姉さん事件です」ってどんだけ事件が起きとんねんって感じですが。この曲を白鳥英美子が歌ってます。
