お誕生日記念で歴史ある万平ホテルでお食事。
We had birthday dinner at Old Manpei Hotei in Karuizawa, establised in 1886.
昔ながらの食堂。
幼稚園の頃にフランス人夫妻に連れられて超緊張して食事した思いでの場所・・・あの時のまま
Classic dinning room
I recall I had dinner here for the first time at age five around taking by the French couple who worked for the embassy. I was all wound up at that time.
地元産のトウモロコシをタップリ使ったスープ。イイ香り。
Local vegitable soup, sweet corn smells good.
メインのポークピカタ。なんとなくクラシックな味。
Classic style porkchop, source was tremendous !
ここのプリンもクラシック。
しっかりしたタマゴ感。味はまろやかなのに硬い。カラメルの苦さとねっとり感。
私の好みにマッチ。個人的に日本ベスト５本に入ると思う。
Custard pudding is so popular in Japan. This one is the best of all ! I feel worthy enough to coming here just for it !!!
ロビーも昔のまま・・・
Lobby is still the same as well as the dinning room.
ジョンレノンもつま弾いたピアノ。亡くなる直前まで家族と４年連続で滞在した。
the antique piano John Lennon played during his stay in 1970's. John stayed the hotel in summer with his family for four straight years from 1976. I have seen him riding bike with Yoko and Shawn on the streets around the hotel.
これは恐らく50年代中盤から後半。写真のパッカードが1954年モデルなので・・・
This shot was probably 1950's because the Packard seems the model 1954.
歴史ある地に昔ながらの文化材としてずっと存続してもらいたいね。
それと・・・歴史と名前に驕ることなくもてなしてほしいしね。（下記）
I really love to be saved such an old cultural asset of memories and also want employees to treat guests better without being arrogant.
・・・残念なこと・・・
１．電話予約の時にアレルギーでの食材のお願いをしようとしたがチョット面倒くさそうにいわれた。
（いいレストランは、むしろアレルギーの客にこそ楽しんでもらえることが腕の見せ所ってな感じに真剣になる。）
2. レストランの中で若い先輩が年配の後輩？を客にお目の前で叱った。（コレは客商売のＮＧよね。）
3. これらの「意見・要望」をいう窓口が今時電話だけしかない。（電話だけー？？？）
