マイケル・スウィートが「Without You」を歌っています

よくラジオなどで耳にする歌「Without You」です。
原曲はHarry Nilsson（ハリー・ニルソン）が歌ってたそうですが、Mariah Carey（マライア・キャリー）や、HEARTというロックバンドもカバーしているようです。
これまでも何度も私が好きなクリスチャンハードロックバンドSTRYPER（ストライパー）の事を、最近では2008.11.7と2008.11.11にそのボーカリストのMichael Sweet（マイケル・スウィート）の歌の事を書きました。

以下にその歌詞を載せておきますが、カップルのどちらかに出て行かれた歌ですね。
英語ではそれほど男女の言葉使いが日本語ほどはっきりしていないだけに、男の立場・女の立場どちらの立場にも成れそうですね。
私は女性に泣かされてばかりですが・・・・。（笑）
さて、このマイケルの歌ですが、さすがハードロックだけでなく、このような歌を歌わせても綺麗ですね。
まぁ、本人意識してかいないかは分かりませんが、後半のハイトーンの部分は、ちょっとハードロック系のシャウトを思わせる感じもないではありませんが・・・・。
何れにしても、マイケルがクリスチャンソング以外を歌ったものを聴く事があまりないだけに、ある意味新鮮にも感じたりしています。
