8th day

I go north really from today and start.
I thought that temperature became higher more and more
Then while it is still cool
I departed.
When it is the desolate wasteland, I imagined it, but somewhat have a feeling that green increases.
The number of trees seems to surely increase, too.
It does not become hot.
I go to the north
I thought that temperature became higher.
But the climate does not seem to be a so simple thing.
The run is comfortable.
The scenery of the circumference is my liking, too.



I overtook the young man who went on a trip by bicycle on the way.
I regretted that I stopped and did not ask a story.
I asked the driver of the road train which stopped in a rest station.
Are there many people going on a trip by bicycle?
He answered; when there are it much.



I met a hitchhiker just before Coober Pedy.
He seems to take a trip to the Australian whole land.
Coober Pedy is famous at a production center of the opal
The underground hotel using a tunnel is famous, too.
He told that there was the basement-type backpacker Hotel.
I will stay at there tonight.
The hotel was easily found.
The basement is surprisingly cool.
But it was hard to carry baggage with my body.
There was the basement-type Catholic Church next to a hotel.
There was nobody, but I entered inside.
I prayed.
It was useful to have gone to the English conversation classroom of a thing of church sponsorship last year. After all
I should do praying in English.
Probably because Australian God thinks that he does not understand the Japanese.
I wished a grandchild first, and I wished a child,,,, and I have cried while wishing.

今日からいよいよ北上開始。
増々気温が高くなると思った
それでまだ涼しいうちに
私は出発した。



荒涼とした荒野だと想像していたが　なんだか緑が増しているような気がする。
樹木の数も確かに増しているように思える。
暑くならない。
私が北に行くほど
気温が高くなると思っていた。
しかし気候はそんなに単純なものではないらしい。
走りは快適だ。
廻りの景色も私の好みだ。



途中で自転車で旅している若者を追い抜いた。
立ち止まって話を聞かなかった事を後悔した。
休憩所で休んでいるロードトレインの運転手に尋ねてみた。
自転車で旅している人は多いのかと。
彼は答えた　いっぱい居ると。
Coober Pedyの手前でヒッチハイカーと合った。
彼はオーストラリア全土を旅しているそうだ。
Coober Pedyはオパールの産地で有名で
坑道を利用した地下のホテルも有名だ。
彼は地下式のバックパッカーホテルもあると教えてくれた。
私は今夜はそこに泊まろう。



ホテルは簡単に見つかった。
地下は驚くほど涼しい。
しかし私の体では　荷物を運ぶのは大変だった。
ホテルの隣に　地下式のカトリック教会があった。
誰もいなかったが　私は中に入った。
私はお祈りをした。
去年の夏に教会主催のの英会話教室に通ったのが役に立った。
私はお祈りは英語でしないといけない。
多分オーストラリアの神様は日本語は分からないと思うから。
私は最初に孫の事を祈り　子供の事を祈り、、、祈りながら私は泣きそうになった。
