ヘッドランプにスイッチを付けた。
私のバイクはヘッドランプが大きくて（60W）大量に電気を消費する。
キーを回すとエンジンがかかっていなくても点灯する。
バッテリーが弱っているので エンジン始動に時間がかかると バッテリーが上がってしまう（笑）
それで何年も前からエンジン始動のときだけヘッドランプを消すスイッチを付けようと思っていた。
計画では新たにスイッチを追加しないで キルスイッチを潰して これをヘッドランプに使うつもりだった。
しかしいざ開けてみると 考えていたより複雑だった。用意した配線図とも違っていた。
失敗するとリスクが大きいので（電子部品は非常に高価）キルスイッチはそもままにしておくことにした。
とりあえず手持ちのスイッチを付けた。
下向きのフィラメントに行く線をヘッドランプ直前で切断し その間にスイッチに向かう線を繋いだ。
エンジンをかけるときは ライトを下向きにして このスイッチを切ればヘッドランプは消灯する。
今回使用したスイッチはバイク用では無いので 耐久性に疑問があるが 壊れたとしても走行には問題ない。
壊れた時にちゃんとした部品に取り替えよう。
エアクリーナーの内部のスポンジがボロボロになっていた。
無くなった部分が全部キャブレーター内部に吸い込まれたと思うとぞっとした（笑）
注文するのも面倒なのでスポンジは撤去して 外部の空気取り入れ口にガーゼくらいの細かいメッシュを重ねて置いて間に合わせる。
結果 エンジンが前よりはかなり楽にかかるようになった。
バッテリーは今度国から特別給付金を貰った時に取り替えよう。
Rさんからベースを借りていたが 最近ようやく自分のをゲットした。
オークションで成り行きで２本も（笑）

長男はとても良いベースだが 私にはとても長くて重い。
次男は自分の練習用なのでちょっと短かくて軽い。
三男はいずれ ののかにあげるつもりだし、
山小屋でも使いたいのでアンプとスピーカーを内蔵している。
今年初めて山小屋へ行ってみた。
リンゴ畑の終わりまで除雪されていたので 車で行けた。
そこからはスキーで行った。
林の中へは樹脂製カンジキを履いて登った。
今年は雪が少ないのでスキーより登りやすい。
歩きながら 無事に帰ってきたんだなあ としみじみ思った。
例年なら屋根の近くまで雪が山になっているのに 今年はこれだけ。
桜の木も無事で安心した。
ののかの誕生日にオーストラリアのお土産を持って行ってきた。
4歳になった。しんも元気だ。

その後 バイクにサイドバックを取り付けたり、工具類を収納したりパッキングをすませる。
この作業にけっこう時間がかかり スタートは1時過ぎになった。
40号線を西に向かう。走るルートはGoogle Earthで事前に調べていた。
山の中の川沿いの道なので涼しいと予想していたが
水は無く 雨期にだけ川になるようだ。
それでも木陰を通るので少しは涼しい。
Orangeのキャラバンパークには7時頃着いたが 管理人はもういなかった。
ゴミ回収のトラックが来たので 運転手に泊まりたいのだが 管理人が居ないので困っていると言ったら
管理人に電話してくれて シャワー室の鍵の番号を教えてくれた。
テントを張っていたら オーストラリア人の男性が話しかけてきた。
彼もここにキャンピングカーで来ていて 働きながら旅をしているらしい。
キャンピングカーにバイクも積んでいて 車種はヤマハのXJ1200らしい。
私がこれからエアーズロックに行くと言ったら 気温が45度以上あるぞと言った。
キャラバンパークは旅行者だけのものではなく ここに定住？している人もいるようだ。
翌朝私のテントの隣にテントを張る人が居て 話をしたらこの町に仕事をしにきたそうだ。
まだ仕事は決めてないが リンゴの摘み取りをするらしい。
職安？のようなところで仕事を斡旋してくれるらしい。

It rained with a small sandstorm on the way.
I met Charlie in Lake Cargellio.
His staying at his house which I recommended
Thus I decided to stay at his house.
He lived with pet dog boy.
I went to the bar to buy beer and I returned to the house and drank it with him.
Orangeの町の郵便局で切手を買ったり、スーパーで食料を買ったりしたので
町を出るのは11時になってしまった。
Lake Cargellioの手前から雲行きが怪しくなり 雨が降りそうだったが
あまり暑かったのでカッパを着る気はしなかった。
少しなら濡れるのも気持ちいいだろうと思った。
しかし雨の前に突風が吹き 砂嵐になった。
土が赤い砂で出来ているので 乾いている所に風が吹けば 砂が舞い上がる。
小さな竜巻を見るのはしょっちゅうだった。
そのあと雨が来た。少しではなく土砂降りだ。
びしょぬれになったが 雨が上がったあとそのまま走っていたら だいぶ乾いた。
Lake Cargellioはにぎやかな観光地だと思っていたが 思っていたより静かな町だった。
湖を眺めてから ベンチに座っている人に キャラバンパークの場所を訪ねたら
泊まるだけなら 自分の家を使えと言ってくれた。
私は遠慮なく泊めてもらう事にした。
荷物を彼の家に降ろしたあと 酒場へビールを買いに行った。
帰って彼と二人で飲んだ。そのあと彼の白ワインも頂いた。どちらも旨かった。
彼は愛犬ボーイと二人暮らしだった。
奥さんに先立たれ 娘は孫と遠くの町にいるらしい。
家の中は この前に娘と孫が来た時のそのままになっていた。
テーブルの上には孫が読みかけた本があったり。
この気持ちは私にも理解出来た。又会える日を待っているのだ。
彼といろいろ話したのだが 私の英語力では1/3しか理解出来なかった。
彼はまだ子供の頃両親と一緒にモロッコから移住した。
道理でかれの顔は歌手のジョルジュムスタキに似ている。

I took a walk with Charlie early in the morning.
I departed early.
The road on the way to Hillstone constructed it.
They constructed it while watering it.
Dust do not stand.
A road was slippery, and a rear wheel was carried away.
I moved it in front of the baggage which I loaded onto a motorcycle.
Stability rose in this a little.
I reached Hillstone and ate a hamburger steak of the lunch early.
I challenged off-road of full length 100km for Ivanhoe.
The road was large, but it was the way where innumerable wheel tracks were spread all over.
The surface of the road is soft and is hard to run very much.
When the motorcycle raised speed, I was stable and am easy to have come to run.
However, I felt it to an engine when I surpassed 80km/h in XT250 if a burden was big.
Then I gave more speed only when I made the cruising speed 80k and swayed.
I was sometimes stuck in the deep wheel track and meandered little by little.
It needed a lot of attention, and I was tired very much.
I finished running 100km somehow and still joined a paved road.
I arrived at Ivanhoe.
I took a short break here and wrote a postcard to a son.
I went to the off-road of 200km for Menindee after that.
This road was easy to run.
I drove fast smoothly.
I went ahead around 80km.
It came suddenly.
A front wheel was scooped to deep sand, and I have fallen down.
I stood up in the side of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle lay.
I had a pain in the right shoulder.
I must raise the motorcycle which fell down first of all.
However, my shoulder did not have power at all.
I was at a loss.
Even if it is impossible to raise a motorcycle, I must move it in the edge of road.
Otherwise I am in danger when other cars went at night.
I drank water and took a rest by the roadside.
I thought after that to move a motorcycle once again.
I may have been there without doing anything for around 30 minutes.
However, a big truck raised a cloud of dust from far away and came.
I took off the red jacket which I wore and thus sent a signal.
The truck stopped.
Two people were in a truck.
Their name is Iain and Ronald.
I explained the situation to them and demanded help.
Their truck was the big truck which carried a heavy industrial machine.
Ronald was a biker.
They decided he drove my motorcycle, and to leave for the town.
He put on my helmet and ran, and the truck ran in the back.
Iain talked on the telephone from a car on the telephone to the hospital of the town in the middle toward the town.
The staff of the hospital waited.
I arrived at the hospital and lay in the bed of the consulting room.
There was a place such as the medical office not a big hospital.
Marie of the nurse examined me.
There seemed to be my right shoulder at the position that fell down in comparison with the left.
She said. When I will take X-rays tomorrow.
She did my drawing blood.
Iain and Ronald secured the room of the hotel for me.
And I sent the motorcycle to the hotel.
Jim of the staff of the hospital carried me to a hotel.
They waited for me in a hotel.
I said to Ronald. The driving of your motorcycle is very good.
He said. To run on that road where my motorcycle is small.
If it is easy to keep posture when a little higher-powered.

それはたくさんの注意が必要で私はとても疲れた。
それでも何とか100kmを走り抜き 舗装道路に合流した。
私はIvanhoeに着いた。
ここで一休みし 息子にハガキを書いた。
その後 Menindeeに向けて 200kmのオフロードに出かけた。
この道は走りやすかった。
順調に飛ばした。
私は80kmくらい進んだ。
しかしそれは突然にきた。
深い砂に前輪が掬われ 私は転んでしまった。
私はバイクの側で立ち上がった。
バイクは横たわっていた 。
私は右肩が痛かった。
とりあえず倒れたバイクを起こさなければ。
しかし私の肩は全然力がなかった。
私は途方にくれた。
バイクを起こすのが無理だとしても 私は道路の端に移動させなければいけない。
そうでないと夜に他の車が通ったとき危険だ。
水を飲んで道ばたで休んだ。
その後 もう一度バイクを移動させてみようと思った。
30分くらいは 何もせずにそこに居たかもしれない。
しかし 遠くから大きなトラックが砂煙をあげて近づいて来た。
私は着ていた赤いジャケットを脱いでそれで合図を送った。
トラックは止まった。
二人がトラックに乗っていた。
彼らの名前は Iain と Ronald だ。
私は彼らに状況を説明し 救助を求めた。
彼らのトラックは重機を運ぶ大きなトラックだった。
Ronaldはバイク乗りだった。
私のバイクを彼が運転して 町へ向かう事にした。
彼は私のヘルメットをかぶり走った。 トラックはその後を走った。
町へ向かう途中でIainは 車の中から電話で町の病院へ電話してくれた。
病院のスタッフは待機していてくれた。
病院に着き 診察室のベッドに横たわった。
そこは大きな病院ではなく 診療所のようなところだった。
看護婦のMarieが私を診察した。
私の右肩が左に比べて下がった位置にあるように見えた。
彼女は言った 明日レントゲンを撮る。
彼女は私の採血をした。
Iain と Ronaldは私のためにホテルの部屋を確保してくれた。
そしてバイクもホテルに届けてくれた。
病院のスタッフのJimが 私をホテルまで運んでくれた。
彼らはホテルで私を待っていた。
私は Ronaldに言った 君のバイクの運転はとても上手だ。
彼は言った 私のバイクは小さい あの道を走るには。
もう少しパワーがあると 姿勢を保つのが簡単だと。
そうかも知れない。それに私のバイクの運転の技術はほとんど素人のレベルだ。
彼らは鉄道の会社の社員だった。
Broken Hillに住んでいる。
彼らも今夜はこの町に泊まるという。
もし私の事が無かったら 彼らは今夜中にBroken Hillに着いていたのかもしれない。
私はみんなにお礼を言って別れた。
私はシャワーを浴びてから 少し休んだ。
その後 酒場へ行った。
外のベンチでNicokeとLionelがビールを飲んでいた。
私も仲間に加わり いろんな話をした。
晩飯を食べずにビールばかり飲んでいたので ビールが早く効いた。
私は眠くなったので 彼らより早く部屋へ帰った。
私はこの時はまだ 自分の肩がそんなに悪いとは思っていなかった。

It was hot and was not able to readily sleep at night.
I looked at starlit sky at the midnight.
I found it in search of the Southern Cross.
I watched the shooting star.
I fall slowly than I look in Japan.

Then I told the rental of the motorcycle on the telephone.
I will return a motorcycle in Broken Hill tomorrow.

My shoulder came to work.
Possibly I may ride a motorcycle again.
I drove some motorcycles for trial.
I seem to be able to run somehow.
I telephoned a rental again.
I asked it to want to continue a trip on a motorcycle.
I came to feel good.
And I went to the bar to drink.
Then I met Jasen of the biker.
I told the circumstances as before to him.
He asked it first

I forgot its matter.

In the Australian off-road, the back is basic.
He seems to ride a motorcycle of KTM.
I came to feel good when I talked with him who was cheerful.
He invited me to drink more; at other places.
I thought about tomorrow and declined it.

しかし仕事は必要ないと言われた。
フライングドクターから返事がきて 私の肩は問題ないらしい。
私は安心した。
しかし私の肩は良くなる気配は無いように思われた。
私はメリーにバイクでの旅は中止して バスで旅を続けるかもしれないと言った。
キャラバンパークのキャビンが今日は空くので今夜はそこに泊まることにした。
荷物を部屋に運んだ。
エアコンがあるので今夜は良く眠れるだろう。
バスでの旅行に備えて荷物の整理をした。

エアコンは無かったけれど このホテルに泊まってよかったと思った。
私は夕食と明日の早い朝食を頼んだ。
寝苦しい夜だった。
何度も目が覚めて その度に外を歩いた。

彼と彼の妻はコーヒーとお菓子で私をもてなした。
私たちはいろんな話をした。
私が孫のために木のオモチャを作ったりすると言ったら

とても嬉しかった。
今度私が何かオモチャを作ったら 彼の子供にあげよう。

I met a hitchhiker just before Coober Pedy.
He seems to take a trip to the Australian whole land.
Coober Pedy is famous at a production center of the opal
The underground hotel using a tunnel is famous, too.
He told that there was the basement-type backpacker Hotel.
I will stay at there tonight.
The hotel was easily found.
The basement is surprisingly cool.
But it was hard to carry baggage with my body.
There was the basement-type Catholic Church next to a hotel.
There was nobody, but I entered inside.
I prayed.
It was useful to have gone to the English conversation classroom of a thing of church sponsorship last year. After all
I should do praying in English.
Probably because Australian God thinks that he does not understand the Japanese.

樹木の数も確かに増しているように思える。

途中で自転車で旅している若者を追い抜いた。
立ち止まって話を聞かなかった事を後悔した。
休憩所で休んでいるロードトレインの運転手に尋ねてみた。
自転車で旅している人は多いのかと。

Coober Pedyの手前でヒッチハイカーと合った。
彼はオーストラリア全土を旅しているそうだ。
Coober Pedyはオパールの産地で有名で
坑道を利用した地下のホテルも有名だ。
彼は地下式のバックパッカーホテルもあると教えてくれた。
私は今夜はそこに泊まろう。
ホテルは簡単に見つかった。
地下は驚くほど涼しい。
しかし私の体では 荷物を運ぶのは大変だった。
ホテルの隣に 地下式のカトリック教会があった。
誰もいなかったが 私は中に入った。
私はお祈りをした。
去年の夏に教会主催のの英会話教室に通ったのが役に立った。
私はお祈りは英語でしないといけない。
多分オーストラリアの神様は日本語は分からないと思うから。
私は最初に孫の事を祈り 子供の事を祈り、、、祈りながら私は泣きそうになった。

Oodnadatta Track is an old road of 617km to link Marla-Oodnadatta-William Creek-Marree.
It was a dream to run on this road on a motorcycle, but the dream did not come true because I had got hurt.
But I want to surely challenge it again someday.
It is together with my friend; or with my family?
I do not yet know it.
I want to believe that the dream comes true someday.
I ran for only some Oodnadatta Track.
The neighborhood of Marla was a road such as the washboard according to the rumor.
I do not understand why a road becomes like this.
I returned soon.
I was afraid that I fell down

I was over a state border of Northern Territory.
The temperature should not be so hot.

I arrived at the turning point to Ayers Rock (Yukara) at past 5:00.

この道をバイクで走るのが夢だったが 怪我をしてしまったので 夢は叶わなかった。
しかし何時かきっと又挑戦したい。
それは 私の友人と一緒、又は私の家族と？
それはまだ分からない。
私は夢はいつかはかなうのだと信じたい。
私はOodnadatta Trackを少しだけ走ってみた。
Marlaの近くは噂通りの洗濯板のような道だった。
どうして道がこんなふうになるのか分からない。
わたしはすぐに引き返した。
私は転ぶのを恐れた
私の肩はまだ一人ではバイクを立ち上がらせる事がないのだ。
私は北に向かって走り始めた。
ノーザンテリトリーの州境を超えた。
気温はそんなに暑くはならない。
緑が増々増してきた。
5時過ぎにはエアーズロック(Yukara)への分岐点に着いた。
ここのホテルに泊まることも出来たが 私は先を急いだ。
私はここで簡単な夕食を食べた。
私は今日は遅くまで走ってみよう。
テントが無くても服を着たまま地面に寝てみようと思った。
私は走り出した。
飛び出して来るカンガルーにぶつからないようにゆっくり走った。
休憩所があった。
私はそこに寝る事にした
私は眠くなっていた。
ベンチの上に横になった。
私は右の上半身が痛いので
地面の上よりは横になりやすいし 又起き上がりやすい。
今夜は満月だった。
明日はいよいよエアーズロックだ。
