Asian Chapter, SLA is happy to announce the following Asian Chapter Awards to attend SLA 2012 conference in Chicago, USA during July15-18,2012.
1. "SLA Early Career Award 2012" sponsored by B&F divison & Asian Chapter ($ 2000)
The Award is given to a budding Library and Information Science (LIS) professional or to a student currently enrolled in an Asian graduate-level programme in the LIS field. The professional must have worked in the field for 5 years or less or currently be enrolled in an Asian graduate-level programme in the LIS field.
2. “SLA Asian Professional Award 2012” sponsored by Balani Infotech Pvt.Ltd.,New Delhi ($1500)
The award will be presented to a library & information professional working in India and the Sub-continent. Candidate should be from any the following countries- India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.Candidate should reside or work in one of the above countries and be working currently in a Library or Information Centre, library school or other information handling capacity.
3. “PHTD-ASIAN CHAPTER SLA Award 2012” sponsored by Wolters Kluwer Health/Ovid ($1500)
The award will be presented to a library & information professional working in Asia who demonstrates outstanding professional knowledge and abilities and interest in pursuing a career in corporate librarianship in either the Pharmaceutical or Health Technology Industries.
All applications for the award must be received by 19 March 2012.
Nominations and all accompanying materials should be sent to The Chair- Awards Committee, at asiansla@gmail.com with essay and resume.
