仲島の大石は、那覇市街地のバスターミナル構内にある高さ約６ｍ、周囲約２５ｍの琉球石灰岩で、
俗に 「 仲島の大石 」 と呼ばれている。下部には海水の働きによってくぼんだ跡があり、
かつてこの周辺が海であったことをうかがわせる貴重な資料となっている。
昔、久米村の人たちは、この岩を文筆峰と呼び、縁起の良いところとして大事にしたといわれている。
また、この付近には明治４１年まで仲島遊郭があって有名な女流歌人吉屋チルーもここで短い生涯を終えた。


　This Ryukyuan limestone is 6m high and 25m around, and is in the out-of-town bus terminal yard.
It is commonly called “Nakashima-no-Oishi”.
It is a precious material bscause it infers that the area was formerly the sea.
Kume-son residents uaed to call the stone Bunpitsuho, and treasured it as an auspicious spot.
There used be Nakshima red-light district untilthe 41st year of Meiji (1908),
and the famous woman poet Yoshiya-Ontsuru is believed to have short life here.
