Outline:
This class deals with and discusses on the theory of landscape planning, design and management for sustainable development of environment, society and economy, or reduction of environmental impacts and enhancement of biodiversity, through case studying on domestic and foreign policies or projects at various different spatial scale.
Aims :
To understand the framework of landscape planning and design for reduction of environmental impacts, enhancement of biodiversity and sustainable development.

Assignment:
A Case Study on Green Infrastructure Policy

Please review and discuss on the following things through case studying green infrastructure planning inside or outside of Japan. You may handle the plan with what kind of spatial scale. Any scales like district scale, Municipal scale, over municipal scale, national scale, international scale, and global scale, etc., are ok.

1. Purpose, aims and position of GI planning
・Including the relation with a policy or plan at higher level by the government

2. Composition and contents of GI planning
・Composition of the written statement of GI plan and contents of each chapter.
・Planning items
・The characteristics of key diagram of GI plan

3. Feasibility on implementation of GI plan
・Resource, fund raising, and the method implement the GI plan

4. Sustainability of environment, social, and economy in GI planning
・Please discuss freely based on the contents of this class.
