選手村近くに設置されている「スポーツラボ」でユースアンバサダーとして活動中のゼミ生 蘭ちゃんに偶然会えました。ちょうど施設の様子を見に来たそうです。スポーツラボは競技入門プログラムと共にCEPの中心的な存在に位置づけられています。
今回、IOCはオリンピック実施競技ではない新たな4つの競技（ローラースポーツ、スポーツクライミング、スケートボード、武術太極拳）を迎え入れました。これらの競技のデモンストレーションと一般の若者の参加を目的として開催されています。ラボではパフォーマーたちの練習時間、パフォーマンスの時間、地元の人々と専門の選手とが交流する時間、YOG参加選手のみが体験する時間に分けられているそうです。

I met Japanese Youth ambassador YAGISAWA Ran by chance at Sports Lab. She is a student who belong to my seminar! A total of 104 people were selected by their National Olympic Committee to be young ambassadors. The main roles of the Young Ambassadors is to promote the Youth Olympics in their nations and to encourage athletes of their nations to get the most out of the Youth Olympic experience by encouraging them to interact with people from different sports and cultures and to take part in activities and workshops.
