Imposing a one-time levy on all deposits in Cyprus to help bail-out its banks is "a rather sleazy backdoor way of revaluing the euro," according to one British businessman with savings in the EU state.

Tony Collings, a British businessman whose savings might be taxed, said if the move was "extended throughout Europe it effectively, it'll withdraw from the principle of the eurozone."
