３月の小雨が降る日でした。
近くの銀行のATMに行くと
６～7台ある内の一つが空いていました。
それを見て
並ばずに済む
そう思って真っすぐにその機械に向かいました。
するとその前で
本当に驚くシーンを目にしました。
その台は空いてる訳ではありません
誰かが使用中です。
でその使用中の誰かは・・・
その台の前で突然倒れて死んだようです。
どうして分るかと言うと
その前に死体があったのです。
私はぎょっと驚いて
すぐにフロアにいる職員さんを呼びました
手招きすると寄って来ましたので
小声でその死体を指さして
“コレまずいよね”
って言うと
その職員さん小声で
もう救急車を呼びましたから
って返事が返って来ました。
私は一瞬思いました？
それだけ？
って
普通であれば救急車を呼んだとしても
誰かその人の側で寄り添いそうですが
誰も何事も無かったかのように仕事をしていますし
他の台でも客はその死体に一切関心が無いかのように
ATMを操作しています。
まぁ異様な光景でしたね。
私自身その職員に
他の台が空きました
って言われましたので
そこで記帳を始めたら
次に来た人が
またその死体が転がってるATMに近づいて
ギョッとしてました。
まぁ死体と言いましたが
実際に亡くなってるかどうかは分かりませんよ
ただ私が見た限り
息をしてませんでした。
昔であればそれで死んでる
って事になりますが
今は蘇生技術も進歩してますからね
息を吹き返す事も十分にあり得ます。
実際にすぐに救急隊員がやってきましたが
その手にはAEDを抱えていました。
しかし面白い物で
野次馬が群がっていれば
私もその人が生き返るかどうか？
是非見たかったのですが
周りにいる人は
無関心で誰も見てる人はいませんからね。
そんな中私だけまじまじと見てると
その私を見てる人がいますからね。
あの社長は野次馬根性が強い
なんて思われても困りますから
そこで私も後ろ髪を引かれながら
現場を離れました。
しかし異常ですよね
銀行でたくさんの人がいるのに
死体が転がっていても
まるでそれが存在しないかのように
淡々と普段の行動？
それをどう捉えたら良いでしょうか？
その後
とても対照的な光景を目にしました
それは夕方に近くで車を走らせてる時です
歩道で3～4人の人が集まって
何かを見てましたので
これは野次馬の中に加わるしかない
そう思って車を止めて
その人だかりの中に入ると
そこにはやはり死体がありました。
ただし人間ではありません
犬です
どっやら散歩中に倒れたようで
買主も野次馬も
パニック気味にああだこうだと話していました。
まぁ実際には死体ではありません
生きていました
がどうやら歩けなくなったようで
皆さん心配して駆け寄ったわけです。
その時には
私の興味はすっかり消えましたので
すぐに立ち去りましたが
皆さんどうしましたかね？
救急車を呼んでも多分来ませんよね。
しかし不思議な物です
駅前の銀行で人が倒れて呼吸が止まっていても
だれも気にしないのに
犬が倒れたら大騒ぎ
一体人間はどうなってしまったんでしょうね？
ウクライナの最前線の映像でも
兵士が野良猫を抱いて休んでるシーンが良くありますが
人間同士は殺し合いをしてる最中ですからね。
明らかに人間より動物の命の方が大切
少なくともその瞬間はそうだと思います。
人の命は地球より重い
多分福田総理の言葉だったと思いますが
実際には時と場合によっては
野良猫より軽い
って事でもありますよね。
いずれにしても私たち不動産屋は
人間はそんな生き物だって事
しっかり理解したい物です。
私のお客様で
親が死んでも涙は出なかったけど
飼い犬が死んだら涙が止まらなかった
って人がいますが
その気持ちに無頓着で
ペットを軽んじる言葉を発すると
仕事も上手く行かなくなる
そんな可能性もありますから
是非気をつけましょう。
