年収やGDPだけで強弱を判断するのは幼稚

昨日の株の暴落

久しぶりに強烈でしたね

まぁしかし大半の国民にとっては

さほど気にもならない

そんなニュースなんでしょうね。

私自身今はあまり株価で一喜一憂する事は無くなりましたが

若い頃は毎日株価ばかり気にして生きていました。

そしてその時代を今にして振り返ると

バカ

でしたね。

なんせ毎日短波ラジオをイヤホンで聞いて

経済についても勉強して

何年も努力したのに

結果は大損

これで終わりました。

これをバカと言わずに何て呼ぶのでしょうか？

まぁしかしバカである事は間違いありませんが

無駄ではありませんでしたね。

この経験は今に至るまで自分の人生を支えてる

そう思えるほど貴重な物になっています。

たくさん学んだ事がありますが

私の人生で一番有益になってるのは

専門家の意見を疑うようになった

って事です。

まあだからと言ってすべて排除する訳ではありませんが

どんな偉い人の話であっても

こと経済に関しては

そのまま受け入れる事はありません。

例えば今GDPって言葉がありますが

これは日本の防衛費をGDPの2％にするとか何とか

政策のための基準に使われますよね。

元々第2次世界大戦の頃

アメリカとイギリスが継戦能力の指標として発明した

なんて言われてますから

防衛費と絡めるのは本来の目的に沿ってるのかも知れません。

ただ

これが実際に戦争を続ける能力を測るのに正確な指標か？

と言えば

逆にそれだけに頼って戦争を予測するのは危険

これが今まさに見て取れるのがウクライナ戦争ですよね。

今ロシアはウクライナでジワジワ占領地を広げていますが

欧米が総がかりで経済制裁をしてるのにビクともしない

そんな風に見えます。

GDPで言えばロシアは１１位ですが

中国を除いて

１位アメリカから１０位のカナダまで

束になってかかって来てるのに負けないのです。

どうしてでしょうね？

まぁもちろん私が正確に分かる訳でもありませんが

これを掘り下げてくと

世界の指導者たちが疑わないGDP

これを無条件で信じるのはアブナイ

そんな風に思うのです。

GDPは工業国が上位に行きますが

その工業国が作る自動車だとか建設機械だとか飛行機や船

全て燃料が無ければただのガラクタです。

ですから

実際にはいくらGDPが大きくても

資源が無ければモロい

って話になります。

この弱点を克服するために

かつて日本は南方に資源を求めて

壊滅的な敗戦につながりましたので

本当は身を持って

このGDPの持つ欠点

これも知ってるはずですが

どうも戦後の急速な経済発展は

私たちを傲慢にしてそれを忘れてしまった

そんな風に見えます。

今日本はアメリカから圧力がかかり

防衛費をＧＤＰ比2％に倍増するようですが

その中に油の話は出て来ません。

どんなに武器を備えても

燃料が無ければ役立たずですが

どうするんでしょうね？

まぁ軍事の事は私は良く分かりませんが

いずれにしてもウクライナ戦争は

開戦当時ロシアのGDPの低さから

長く戦争は続けられない

そんな意見が支配していましたが

実際には資源大国は

地下から油も天然ガスも沸いてきますし

石炭も鉄鉱石も豊富ですから

年収は少なくても

財産を大量に隠し持ってる

そんな資産家みたいな物です。

強い訳ですよね。

でこのロシアの資源

実は天然資源だけではありません

人的資源が凄いですね。

毎日1000人以上が死んでるのに

次から次へと補充していきます。

かつてスターリンは

ロシアの人的資源は無尽蔵

そう言ったようですが

今回はそれ思い知らされますね。

まぁいずれにしても

平均株価だのGDPだの

ってのが一人歩きしますが

経済活動の目的は人間の生活

これはしっかり意識したいですね。

私自身は

会社と家族の生活が守れれば

GDPも株価もどうでも良い

今はそんな境地です。

経済指標では人の生活は守れません

株もお金もしょせん紙切れです。

自分の命を守るのは

勤労意欲

最近は社員の良くそれを語ります。

お金はそれを物やサービスに換えて意味を持つ訳ですが

生産性が上がりましたので

物はいくらでもお金で手に入りますが

サービスを提供する人

これは足りません

少子化が進みますから

これから先も

人は不足します。

お金をたくさん持っても不安は残りますが

働く意欲さえあれば怖いものは無い

若い人たちはそれを頭に入れて

長い人生

精神を病むことなく

無事に終えてほしいと思いますね。

私は死ぬまで働く

そう決めてから心穏やかになりました。

もう株価に頼って生きる気は全くありません。

暴落なんてどうでも良い話です。

私が目指す会社は

小さくても勤労意欲が高い社員たち

これです。

I don't get too excited or upset about stock prices anymore, 

but when I was younger, 

I was always worrying about stock prices. 

Looking back at that time, 

I was stupid. 

I listened to shortwave radio with headphones every day, 

studied economics for years, 

but in the end, 

I lost a lot of money. 

What else can you call this but stupidity? 

I was definitely stupid, 

but it wasn't a waste. 

This experience has been so valuable that I feel it has supported my life to this day. 

I've learned a lot, 

but the most useful thing in my life is that I've become skeptical of the opinions of experts. That doesn't mean I reject everything, 

but I never accept what some great person says when it comes to the economy. 

For example, there is now a word called GDP, 

which is used as a standard for policies such as setting Japan's defense spending at 2% of GDP. 

It is said that it was originally invented by the United States and the United Kingdom during World War II as an indicator of their ability to continue fighting, 

so linking it to defense spending may be in line with the original purpose. 

However, is this an accurate indicator to actually measure the ability to continue a war? 

On the contrary, it is dangerous to rely solely on it to predict war. 

This is exactly what we can see now in the war in Ukraine. 

Russia is gradually expanding its occupied territory in Ukraine, 

and it seems that it is not fazed by the economic sanctions imposed by the West. 

In terms of GDP, Russia is 11th, but excluding China, everyone from the United States in 1st place to Canada in 10th place is attacking it together, and it is not losing. 

I wonder why? 

Well, of course I don't know exactly, 

but digging deeper into this, 

I think that it is dangerous to believe this unconditionally, 

as it is GDP that world leaders do not doubt. 

Industrialized countries rank high in GDP, 

but the cars, construction machinery, planes, and ships that these industrialized countries make are all just junk without fuel.

 So, in reality, no matter how big GDP is, it is vulnerable without resources.

In order to overcome this weakness, 

Japan once sought resources in the south, which led to a devastating defeat, 

so in reality, we should have experienced the drawbacks of this GDP, 

but it seems that the rapid economic development after the war made us arrogant and we forgot about it.

Japan is now under pressure from the United States to double its defense spending to 2% of GDP,

 but there is no mention of oil in that.

No matter how many weapons you have, 

they are useless without fuel, so what will we do?

Well, I don't know much about military matters, 

but in any case, 

at the time the Ukrainian war began, 

the prevailing opinion was that Russia's GDP was low and the war couldn't continue for long, but in reality, 

resource-rich countries have oil and natural gas flowing from underground, 

and they have an abundance of coal and iron ore, 

so even if their annual income is low, they are like wealthy people who have a lot of assets hidden away.

That's why they're strong, isn't it? 

Russia's resources actually, it's not just natural resources

it's human resources that are amazing.

Even though more than 1000 soldiers die every day

it's replenished one after another.

Once Stalin said

Russia's human resources are inexhaustible

This time, we're reminded of that.

Anyway,

the purpose of economic activity is human life

not average stock price and GDP

I want to keep this in mind. 

as long as I can protect the livelihood of my company and my family

I personally don't care about GDP or stock prices

I'm in that state of mind now.

Economic indicators cannot protect people's lives

Stocks and money are just pieces of paper after all.

The thing that protects your life is your motivation to work

I often talk about that to my employees these days.

Money has meaning when it is exchanged for goods and services

Productivity has increased

so you can get as many goods as you want with money, 

but there are not enough people to provide services

As the birthrate continues to decline

there will be a shortage of labor in the future.

Even if you have a lot of money, 

you can still feel anxious, 

but as long as you have the guts to work,

there's nothing to be afraid of. 

I hope young people keep this in mind and live long lives without becoming mentally ill. 

I will work until I die. 

Since I made that decision, 

I have become at peace. 

I no longer be shaken by stock prices.

A stock market crash is of no concern to me. 

The company I aim to be is one that may be small 

but has employees with a strong desire to work. That's it
