還暦を過ぎて、コンチャ・ブイカという歌手に出会った。
出会ったと言っても、お知り合いになった訳ではない。
まあ、当然の話だけど。
遠く離れた日本の地で、CDを聴く位しか徳さんには出来ない。
そのCDだが、輸入盤しか手に入らない。
となると、そこには、スペイン語の羅列しかない。
せめて曲名と、歌詞の大意を知りたいと、古本屋で西和辞典を買った。
ところが、調べようとするとその大半が辞書には載っていない。
後で知ったことだが、その購入した辞書は５０年前のもの。
まさに、古本。
これも後で知ったことだが、５０年前の当時、スペイン語に対する関心も薄く、当時、この小振の辞書を作るのがやっとという時代であったらしい。
そんなことを聞かされたので、最近になって西和辞典の買い直しをした。
これは、さすがに例文も多く、親切な辞書に仕上がっていた。
ところが、やっぱり、言葉の大半は載っていない。
そう、ラテン系の言葉は、活用変化がとてつもなく多く、一冊の辞書に収めきれるものではないらしい。
辞書を引けるように、ある程度の基礎を学ぶ必要があるというのだ。
現在、徳さんは超迂回してスペイン語の基礎を一人細々と勉強している。
現在のところ、ブイカの歌の歌詞に直接触れるような段階ではない。
かといって、もうすでに脳の萎縮がかなりの程度進んでいる徳さんにとって、その日が果たして来るのか？と心配でもある。
そして今日、ラ・ファルサ・モネーダ。贋金という題の歌の英訳をネットで探し当てた。
徳さんはついてる。
なんて思っちゃう処に、徳さんの人間としてのいじましさ、卑小さがうかがえる。
冷静に考えれば、徳さんの英語能力は高校生３年を頂点として、以来ほったらかしで、現在はほとんど無能に近いのであった。
トホホ、の話はあるものである。
