Ciao a tutti!
Traditionally every couple of months I am allowing myself (as promised)to write you a bloq (and if I am personally too busy than Andrea does it or did it like in SA to keep you in the loop).
How are you all?? As you know I am back after a big PR tour in NZ, OZ and SAfrica.
Was amazing I believe in some of the mentioned countries the album reached already Gold sales after 1 week or so. The reactions are fantastic, this album seems to become more popular than what I have achieved so far. I guess because there is for everyone something on it now.
That´s exactly my devotion as an entertainer to put a smile on people´s face from the first till the last row, no matter if Italian, English, Latin, Asian, Slavik or different cultural and religious point of views.
That´s the real world that we live together. No seperations and discussions about differences “un solo mondo-one world only” at least in my opinion.
Or call it “mondo Buanne”?
I am happy to announce that we have now launched a proper youtube channel under that name. Not forgetting about the great concept of catching up and contacting each other online with “Piazza Buanne” on www.patrizio.tv
The fan base and friends on Piazza Buanne, myspace, facebook and mondobuanne(youtube)is growing daily-I am overwhelmed by all the great messages, wishes(for my birthday)and opinions-GRAZIE, GRAZIE, GRAZIE!!!
I also played 2 concerts in S-Africa which were received VERY well and I used as a sort of premier to take notes as I have never before prior performed that repertoire.
My Manager is now in London but I have a meetings next week in London with my record company as well about details for future PR and the PBS(US)DVD recording.
I think the album will be released in the ....US.... in June 2010 when we pledge the PBS special and when I come back from my tour in OZ/NZ in May 2010. February and March will be dedicated to ..UK.. and ..Europe.. release. NOTHING confirmed but it is only fair to share with you.
I am very proud of the album and the work that we all put into it and the reactions. Specially the fact that the Italian, latin Patrizio sound is very much present in songs that are not even Italian like “you are my everything” or the song that Dianne Warren wrote for me “Why did you have to be” or even “Crazy...smooth, romantic, beautiful orchestra, great musicianship-JUST FOR YOU.
As much as I wanted to demonstrate that I am not only Italian but certainly an individual with my own thoughts, feelings and opinions and do not just represent a culture or tradition or a cliché, I could not resist and wanted to put some great, great Italian songs on this album like “ Mambo Italiano”, “Estate”, “Grande, Grande, Grande” (by the great legend and co-producer Tony Renis) or my favourite uptempo Napolitano song “Tu vuo fa l´americano” and to include even an original song written by my Napolitano friend Matteo “Amore sempre con te-make love”.
That´s for those who love Italian music or have Italian roots and want nothing but Italian no matter who or how it is done. For those who want to know more about PATRIZIO, my qualities and support me as an artist, plus do not really relate to “the Italian job” you have lots to on this album to draw a picture. That´s why the album simply named “Patrizio”. Nomatter if it is Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ricky Martin, Laura Pausini, Zucchero or Julio Iglesias....in order to introduce the music to the world and share the passion world wide, English is the language to sing. Watch out soon my Special Edition CD in ..South Africa.., I recorded in Africaans just like I recorded for ....Japan.... in Japanese (check out youtube Parla piu piano).
Was also back in ..Napoli.. for a good while and stayed with my uncle and hung out with my cousins, old friends and generally family.
I stay Italian in my heart and identity but I am a man of the world without a chain on my leg.
You British, Americans, Australians, New Zealanders, Asians, South Africans,...have realized and confirmed my dream and make me feel like home. You allow me to be Patrizio and spread my wings.
So if you REALLY support me and my dream and my music-I want to say THANK YOU never enough.
