The Child In Time インタビュー w/ Benedict その1？

9月24日（日）PM9:00にBBC Oneで放送される「The Child In Time」のインタビュー動画が出ていました。
放送と言われても日本にいる私には関係のない話だし、動画配信とかDVDを待つしかありませんが、
きっとすぐにネタバレくらうんだろうな、とちょっと荒んでいます。

ベネディクトのインタビューはリスニングできるはずもありませんが
BBC Press Officeが前半だけ字幕をつけて公開していました。
なんで半分なの？全部出せや、オラー！（荒んでいます）
実際、見たい場面は後半なんです。

そのうち誰かが後半も字幕つけてくれるだろうと期待をしつつ前半だけ訳してみました。
でも世間は厳しいかもしれないので後半が出なかったら、
BBC MEDIA CENTREのサイトに要約したものがありますのでそちらを訳してみようと思います。
相変わらず他力本願です。

It's every parent's worst nightmare, I think, without a doubt and not easy.
親にとっては最悪の悪夢だよ。容易い事ではないと思う。（言い表せない、という意味？）


Stephen:We'll find her. I promise you.
スティーヴン「彼女を見つけるんだ。絶対に。」

It's pretty distressing, I won't lie, it was a very unpleasant place to go to.
かなり悲惨なんだよ、本当に嫌な場所だった。




The child is born out of a very loving relationship, and he suffers the extraordinary,
unimaginably painful trauma of losing his child in a supermarket.
子どもは愛情に満ちた関係から生まれるんだよ。
それなのに彼はスーパーマーケットで子どもを失ってしまうという、
想像を絶するほどの耐えがたいトラウマを抱えてしまう。




I think that's what's extraordinarily violent about what happens to Stephen and his family,
is that it literally is a case of, looking over his shoulder once and the child is there,
and looking over again and she's not.
スティーヴンと家族に起きた事はひどく暴力的な事だと思うんだ。
後ろを振り返るとそこにいた子どもが次の瞬間にはいなくなるんだよ。




It's about how the very fragile nature of
what has built him is destroyed by that incident and those around him.
彼の築いてきたものが事件や彼の周囲によって壊されていく、
それがいかにもろいものかを表している。


Stephen:Kate! Please - has anyone seen a four-year old girl?
She was wearing a yellow coat, her name's Kate. Please!
You must have seen her, she was standing just there when I was paying. No?
Kate!
スティーヴン「ケイト！誰か4歳の女の子を見なかったか？
黄色いコートを着たケートという女の子だ。誰か！
見たはずだよ、僕が支払いをしている時にそこに立ってたんだ。どうなんだ。ケイト！」




You can't help but think of the reality that people have endured
in our lifetimes with children going missing.
実際に子どもが行方不明になったまま生きる人生を耐えてきた人たちのことを考えてしまう。




It is just horrific, and of course it upset me,
and I think it is an upsetting thing to view but an important thing in a way
to take from the story is the extraordinary ability that humans have,
the resilience that we have to continue.
恐ろしいし、当然僕だって動揺するよ。
動揺させられるけど、重要なのは人間に備わっている力、
立ち直っていく力を持ち続けなければならない事なんじゃないかな。




Continue living for that person or that memory, and to create new love out of that.
It's a brave thing, in a way, to do.
大切な人や思い出とともに生き続け、新しい愛を育む。
ある意味、それは勇敢な行為だよ。
